Blowing
together on a windy day, two seeds landed side-by-side.
One
said to the other, ‘Man-oh-man, that was
one incredible ride!’
The
weed seed replied,‘I was with my Mom
in
that field over there,
And BAM, way up in the air I went,
and landed I don’t know where!’
‘Field over there?’,
the first seed replied.
‘Not much of a
ride.
I was launched into an orbit from
way up in the sky!’
‘How’s that?’,
the weed seed asked.
‘Ever heard of
sequoia?’, it replied.
Weed’s
retort, ‘Ah, you’re the fellas who block
sunlight
from us other guys!’
[Sequoia seed]
‘Yep! With first dibs
on sunlight, we grow tall, live L-O-N-G!
After thousands of years, we are
still going strong!’
The
weed seed choked. ‘Hey, not fair!
Who
made the rules of this game?!’
[Sequoia seed]
‘I’ve heard the Game
Creator did.
I don’t know His Name.’
Friend,
let this short chat remind you that you, too, were a seed.
With
differences and similarities to these two breeds.
God
created us to live long and strong upon the earth,
From
‘first dibs’ on His Light to increase our spiritual girth.
Sin
killed this plan, and like weeds we all became.
To ‘first dibs on His Light’, we all lost our
claim.
We
lost our great stature, and our life spans shrank,
All
because we fell... for a devilish prank!
God
sent His Son into our world un-contrite,
The
Light
of Life in us all to reignite;
To reset our lives that from Him were
alienated,
And
give new DNA - Divine Nature Actuated! *
No
longer need we to live lives as a mere weed,
Starved
of First Light on which we were
designed to feed.
So
shed your weed nature. Payment has been sufficed!
Embrace your ‘sequoia girth and stature’ ...in
Christ.
