‘I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
and in you, all the families of the Earth shall be blessed.’
Genesis 12:3
As headlines about Israel’s actions in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and beyond dominate world attention, many believers may instinctively think about and/or quote Genesis 12:3, where The Lord declared to Abram, 'I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you.' Yet too often, that verse becomes a reflex rather than a revelation. What if its meaning is far broader and much more sobering than we have been taught or come to believe? What if we have been blessing what The Lord never intended us to bless, while overlooking what He actually called us to discern?
This 3-part series invites thoughtful Christians to pause, pray, and look again at Genesis 12:3 through a wider, strategic lens. It explores how that early promise, meant to unveil The Lord’s plan to redeem all humanity, has likely been reduced to a Christian slogan, used to justify almost anything Israel does. My hope is that these reflections will rekindle and deepen discernment, humility, and a deeper awe for the strategic precision of The Lord's AWESOME plan that is unfolding across the ages. Let's explore who is/are the you in this pivotal verse!
