The Book of Revelation, what a prodigious mystery, full of unimaginable images and symbols. Therein are blessings for us who read, hear and keep its words. In a real sense, Revelation is The Lord’s ‘battle plan’ to reclaim, then re-assert His authority on Earth, authority Adam’s sin transferred to satan and all his cohorts. It portends The Lord's pre-determined transitions from the 3rd-to the-7th ages of human history! Read that again!
This series links to three series that explore and exposit what are possibly the most challenging-to-understand sections of The Book of Revelation. I speak of the 7 seals broken on an ancient scroll, the 7 'trumpet' judgments that The Lord's angels will sound from Heaven, and the 7 'bowl' judgments they will pour out on this God-rejecting world, drowning in sinfulness. The last two include what is commonly called ‘the apocalypse’, which will come to a sudden, shocking end in Armageddon.
Recall, The Lord promised Noah that He would never again send a global flood judge the world for its gross sinfulness. (Genesis 9) There is no record that Noah asked just HOW The Lord would judge deepening sinfulness, from the personal, to the familial, to the societal, to the national levels. The answer is abundantly clear, as iteratively described and demonstrated across the pages and ages of The Bible, and also this blog.
My hope and desire are for you to be edified as you join me in this exploration. For sure, opinions abound on what Apostle John's incredible vision really means! Ergo, I conclude ...there's room for mine! ;o) I think you might be surprised!
Let's get busy in our effort to understand this incredibly stunning vision John had when he was exiled on the Island of Patmos, some time after the powers that were, tried to kill him in boiling oil!
