What’s Glory? (Poem, Part 4)

Within our spirit and body, glory is hidden,

God’s Spirit received when we accepted Christ.

It is His power that, for now, is like a token. ¹

In our dark world, it’s His power to be light,

This glory is not hidden from, but for you…

…To discover as you develop Christ’s lordship,

…To reveal to those within your life’s purview,

…To reflect back to God in your praise and worship.

To grow and manifest this power, God has two requests:

Renew your soul to His Word’s promises and principles,

Commit your life to turning away from what He detests.

In doing these, you will thus reach your ...glory pinnacles.

God’s Spirit within you makes you His temple,

And where His presence rests, of this be assured,

There His holy angels always assemble,

And their ministry to Him, and you, ensured.

In the presence of angels, their glory is found,

Angelic glory that’s always encompassing,

You and The Lord within, whom they serve and surround.

Voila!

Glory inside and out! Now that’s empowering! ²

Within this cloud of hidden glory,

Something in you will be stirred.

Shhhhh…

When still and quiet, …very softly,

The voice of God will be heard.

Meditating on this gift, your ‘glory stock and glow’,

Perceptions of God’s and angelic glory will grow.

As more about their awesome glory you come to know,

You will learn He desires, through you, to others to flow. ³

Reward of the Wicked (Poem)

Vengeance is Mine, thus says The Lord, livid!

You will see the reward of the wicked.

In due time, their foot will slip.

Of ill gains they will be stripped. ¹

The wicked think they’re getting away.

Oh no, one day they will have to pay.

Fully arrayed in their arrogant pride,

On that day, they will have no place to hide.

Caught in all the traps they themselves have set,

Before The Lord, t’will be their time to sweat.

Don’t be afraid or jealous of them.

It’s not your job, but His to condemn.

Snared by the works of their own hands,

They’ll find themselves in sinking sands.

They’ll soon find out what justice demands.

Vengeance is God’s, you must understand.

Trusting in hoards of ill-gotten loot,

Everything they touch they now pollute.

Weighed down by the necklace of their pride,

To the deepest of depths they will slide. ²

To them there is Grace, but for a season.

When Grace runs out, their judgment is certain. ³

Trust in God, and don’t be afraid,

‘Cause in His scales they will be weighed.       

On that dreadful day, they will not escape,

All the judgments The Lord for them has shaped.

Vengeance is God’s, surely He will repay,

And what He pays, to us He will display!

…You (the righteous in Christ) will see

the reward of the wicked.

(Psalm 91:8)

What’s Glory? (Poem, Part 3)

There seems to be so much confusion about glory,

Even a song about being under God’s ‘glory spout’,

If you’re reborn, you are the spout where glory is poured out!

So let’s turn another page on our glory story.

Within our spirit and body, glory is hidden,

God’s Spirit received when we accepted Christ.

In our dark world, it’s His power to be light,

Power that, for now, is considered as a token. ¹

This glory is not hidden from, but for you…

…To discover as you develop Christ’s lordship,

         …To reflect back to God in your praise and worship,
…To reveal to those within your life’s purview.

The glory within you is like God’s start-up investment.

Let’s think of it as His Light and Power Company,

For which you and He have joint responsibility.

Though it was paid for by Christ, your role is significant.

From you, He requests and expects daily soul renewal,

To Kingdom principles and laws revealed in His Word,

Then your life, committed to what in your heart He’s stirred,

Yielding both a good return, and power sustainable.

Imagine the problems and angst from a power outage,

Perhaps after a bad storm or from a technical failure.

Now imagine you own that company within your culture!

What if God sees this when you don’t mind
…your glory wattage?

From a distance at dusk, look at a light that’s faint.

As the night grows dark, it will barely be visible.

To see in deep darkness, would that faint light be helpful?

Let this be the picture unattended glory paints.

By reports from around the world, we’re daily buffeted.

Loudly they reveal, ‘These must be the last of
the Last Days era!’

Yet many Christians live life as in a spiritual coma.

As darkness deepens…

Don’t let your life cause God’s glory to be short-circuited. ²
