Undoubtedly, Genesis 6 is one of the most pivotal books in The Bible! It is Heaven’s stark, succinct, stock-taking perspective of humanity at the end of the 1st age of our history! Sadly, the dire picture it paints of our first ancestors, steadily worsened during both the 2nd and this current 3rd age, as we have aggressively found innovative ways to disgust our Creator.
I wonder if everybody would read that chapter might walk away:
(a) shaking their head in disgust about ‘those people’, or
(b) making a personal decision to live a higher quality of life than they did?
During my strategic study and analysis of The Bible, The Lord revealed that the conditions He reported to Moses in Genesis 6, will be the similar conditions that will exist across the closing years of each of His 6 predicted ages of human history, [get this…] including His Millennial Reign age! Imagine that!! For more, see: Mid-ages Musings (Series). That seems to infer that Heaven did a similar stock-taking review at the end of the 2nd age—a review that concluded ‘the fullness of time’ had come for Jesus to be born as a man. That also infers Heaven will be doing similar stock-taking reviews at the end of the 3rd-through-6th ages! Imagine that!!
That insight triggered my imagination about those un-written reviews. But knowing the history of the 2nd and 3rd ages, and keeping up with current events, we don’t have to imagine! We are fully equipped to ‘see what Heaven saw, now sees, and will see’ from here on—developments and events that triggered its decision to close the 2nd age, and that will trigger its decision to close this 3rd age.
Moreover, The Bible, history, and human nature, together, give us more than adequate information to guesstimate the age ending conditions in the 4th-through-6th ages. So come along with me as I imagine ‘Genesis 6 equivalents’ for the 2nd-through-6th ages of human history.
