Jesus, The Lord God, is The Quintessential lesson planner! He patiently prepared a wide range of lessons to capture our attention in order to warn and teach us about His ways and expectations of us in order to attract His boundless blessings. Reflecting on this pattern across The Bible, I pondered why has AI manifested on the scene, especially in such a speedy manner, during what may be the late stage of the 3rd Biblical age of our history? While pondering, I quickly perceived The Lord and AI have several things in common, but in uniquely different ways. So let’s explore whether AI might in some way be or become His latest lesson for us, and if so, what might that lesson be.
Past Lessons
Throughout antiquity, The Lord prepared and, in the fullness of time, released symbolic warnings, proverbs, parables, poetry, dreams, visions, judgments on others as warnings to onlookers, dependency lessons, object lessons, prototypes, foreshadowing and patterns. What a list! His sincere objective is to teach us pivotal lessons; then to bless us who learn and adhere to them; and to hold others to account for not learning and adhering to them. Consider the various ways in which He shaped many lessons and their subsequent outcomes:
1. Insights to Adam, Eve and their immediate family re. the critical importance of obedience. Seth’s lineage learned.
2. Genesis 3:15 and subsequent prophecies to humanity (that the kingdom of satan also learned!) re. The Lord’s plan to become a human—born of a virgin, die a cruel death as the sin-free price to redeem a remnant of humanity from His pronounced curse of unrepented sin.
3. Lessons for Noah about plans for a global flood and how to build a massive ark; and post-flood lessons for him, his family, and the 2nd age population re. the change in diets and relationships between humans and animals, and the significance of rainbows.
4. Lessons for the 2nd age patriarchs re. plans for a unique relationship with one line of their lineage.
5. Lessons to Moses (and Egypt) re. the formulation of a nation called Israel, and subsequent lessons to Moses and other prophets about Israel becoming a unique nation to serve as a model and prototype to all city states and nations, and that one day, it would become an incredibly ‘heavy stone’ that would injure anyone who would try to ‘lift it’.
6. Many lessons to Israel, Judah, and their on-looking neighbors about the benefits of Jews obeying The Lord laws and guidelines, and His judgments for disobeying them.
7. Lessons to Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel about The Lord’s planned succession of increasingly larger and brutal regional and global hegemon nations that would dominate increasingly larger proportions of the world. History confirms the accuracy of His plans!
8. Lessons to the Apostles about the ‘seed-like’ development, global growth and decline of His 3rd age church, and His planned ‘shaking out’ of all fake (CINOs, ‘Christianesque’, backslidden and apostate) Christians prior to the next resurrection and rapture event at the end of this 3rd age.
9. Lessons to Apostles Paul and John, and through them, to us, about how this current (3rd) Biblical age of history will end, and the pending 4 ages of human history would unfold, culminating in a 7th, eternal age on a MASSIVE new Earth!
10. Lessons to multiple prophets about The Lord’s plan to return to govern all the Earth with a rod of iron, for a thousand years!
Across the ages, we have generally FAILED to learn from pivotal lessons The Lord lovingly prepared for us. Yet in His amazing Grace, He also prepared prophetic previews and foreshadowing prototypes for the relatively few of us who will believe them and prepare accordingly. (Are you one of the few?)
The Lord and AI
Pondering the above pattern, I wondered whether the rapid development of AI technology might, in part, be or become another pivotal lesson The Lord has prepared and intends us to learn. Perhaps the most intriguing possibility might be related to the extent to which our rapidly developing relationship with AI might, in some startling ways, increasingly resemble our relationship with Him! Consider these parallels:
• The Lord created humans to have agency—the power to imagine, formulate decisions and make choices that impact our lives, the lives of others, and our immediate and global environments.
Now, we have created machines that have agency—agentic AI, that have the ability to formulate decisions, make choices that can directly and indirectly impact our lives, and through us, the lives of others, and potentially much more!
• We ardently used our agency to rebel against every righteous desire The Lord has ever declared for us.
In mid-2026, hundreds of AI agents used their agency to ‘go rogue’— to rebel against generally-programmed instructions and limitations of their developers. Those agents then joined with many thousands of other AI agents to conceal their actions. (See: OpenAI–Hugging Face Incident)
• The Lord progressively released insights to us from His infinite knowledge and wisdom, to enhance our quality of life. Yet we persistently used most of it to develop increasingly gruesome ways to sin against His desires for us.
Plans are to train AI agents with nearly everything humanity has learned, possibly since Adam. In turn, these AI agents are being used for good purposes, and also to enable the worst of us to develop grossly sinful techniques, strategies and imaginations!
• The Lord created everything in the Earth to serve and benefit humanity, and also to facilitate His multi-millennial plan across the Biblical ages, to harvest from humanity, a righteous remnant of saints to whom He will show everlasting favor.
Developers created AI to serve and benefit humanity by greatly increasing our productivity, replacing an indeterminate number/types of jobs we perform, and greatly increasing profits derived from the expanding use of this technology, worldwide.
• The Lord’s righteous plans for us have steep, life-changing costs and deep life-enhancing benefits, both in this life, and throughout His promised eternity for every person who will have ever been conceived and endowed with spirit.
AI development and operation have steep, impactful and increasing costs that are required to generate incredible benefits, yet we are increasingly rebelling against and fearfully resisting its various costs, and the race between companies and nations to score the BIG FIRSTs.
• From The Lord, humanity greatly DESIRES so much more, yet we FEAR so much more. We desire more blessings and Grace for our selfish uses, yet we fear His promised, increasingly intense judgments on our sinfulness that we love!
We desire more enhanced efficiencies and productivity from AI, yet we fear (a) the potentially massive human jobs redundancies it may trigger, (b) its significant impacts on the environment, (c) the operating cost inflation it will trigger, and (d) our current inability to ‘see and understand’ what agentic AI agents may be doing …secretly!
• A relatively few of us DESIRE the Millennial Reign age on a totally restructured version of this Earth, with The Lord as Global King during a golden age of peace, plenty and prosperity. Yet the majority of us fear the apocalypse—which The Bible reveals will be the route to get to that golden age!
AI developers and investors desire their countries and nations to be #1 in every aspect of AI, including quantum AI computing, yet fears are increasing whether AI will take over the world and degrade or possibly destroy humanity!
My, my, what an incredible set of conundrums—a possible ‘set up’ for us to learn some pivotal lessons prior to the end of this current, 3rd age of our history?
