AI, Heaven’s Possible Lesson Plan?
Part 1 posits whether the development of agentic AI might possibly be or become an instrument The Lord has allowed to develop at this stage in the 3rd Biblical age, to teach us some pivotal lesson(s). If/IF this is possible, the natural question is:
What lesson(s) might The Lord intend for us to learn from agentic AI—
lessons we very likely will deny, ignore and refuse to learn,
then pay high costs because we didn’t,
like we did with all of His prior lessons?
Of course, no one knows, but here are a few good, Bible-based clues:
1. Do unto others, as we would have others to do unto us and without genuine repentance, whatever we sow, that we will also reap. These are the so-called Golden Rule, and the spiritual law of sowing and reaping. None of us have applied or experienced these perfectly. While the Golden Rule applies to other people, does it stand to reason that it would FIRST and FOREMOST apply to The Lord, Himself?? When we refuse to apply it first to Him, don’t we risk Him allowing us to reap the benefits of our choices as an object or demonstration lesson? Recall what He required of ancient Israel, His model and prototype for all nations, a role it rejected, but will be fulfilled during the Millennial Reign age, and also in eternity on the new Earth.
We are the apex of His creation and a direct reflection of Him—created in His personal image as immortal spirits and souls, in physical bodies that The Bible predicts will one day become immortal, just as Adam and Eve were created—tripartite immortal beings.
Agentic AI is, thus far, the apex of our creations. It has the capability to learn EVERYTHING we have learned, and then to supersede us in applying that knowledge in ways we cannot imagine, including ways we shudder to imagine! That’s a perfect set-up for an object/demonstration lesson for us hard-heads!
2. Similarly, most parents are logically concerned and alerted when their children fall deeply into lifestyle patterns that flat-out go against the righteous lifestyles parents endeavored to model. After all, The Bible promises, ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6) Children naturally tend to rebel as they mature and become increasingly independent from their parents. Note how the proverb steps over that natural transition, to focus on old age. That’s typically when wisdom from the hard knocks of life, should fully mature! But… imagine if it never matures. Regrettably, in so many of us, it never matures!
Agentic AI technology is akin to ‘our children’. If some AI agents have demonstrated untoward abilities in their relatively young age, on which side of the scale might fully-matured AI fall?!
3. In many respects, the material quality of human life on Earth might currently be at its best ever. But morally and spiritually, it may have deteriorated well below our lowest levels. Every aspect of modern lifestyles has been reimagined and manipulated to develop more ways to sin and to treat each other in horribly cruel ways. Expansive global wealth and power have corrupted us in unimaginable ways. To increasingly more of us, the above-noted ‘old age’ proverb will never apply, either because so many of us never reach old age, and many of us who do, may never align to the righteous lifestyles to which we were exposed in our youth.
That might be a perfect set-up for The Lord to teach us a key lesson when AI, the mechanical creations we ‘parent’, ‘go rogue’ vis-a-vis our expectations! AI doesn't need a spirit or soul to serve as an object lesson. One lesson may be that autonomous agency without moral submission to authority, inevitably breeds systemic chaos. But perhaps the most powerful lesson might be that AI can be dangerous without rebelling. It can simply be wrong—and to its errors, human users like you and me, can supply the decision-making agency that converts AI errors and ‘hallucinations’ …into catastrophes. For example, see: One AI Claim About a Chinese Ship Nearly Triggered a US Military Response.
4. There may be another striking parallel: guardrails. The Lord create humanity with conscience—a innate, moral warning system anchored in our immortal spirit and soul. (Romans 2:14–15). He also gave us His explicit laws, warnings of judgments, and many demonstrated consequences to us who would ignore them. Yet we ALL have suppressed, rationalized and overrode ALL of The Lord’s guardrails. In doing so, we effectively trample His laws and guidelines as mere suggestions. Ergo, the grief He feels is the grief of a loving Father over rebellious children, whereas AI developers may feel the terror of a realizing their creations are smarter than their creators! Thus, I ask:
What better way for The Lord to ‘up His game’,
than to allow us to taste what He experiences from us??’
If so, agentic AI, with demonstrated abilities to ‘go rogue’,
might be a perfect way to teach humanity that lesson,
irrespective of whether we build AI with or without guardrails!
Might AI agents effectively mirror our own rebellion against The Lord?!
What might the benefits be for those who LEARN that LESSON?
The lightning speed development of agentic AI might set the stage late during this 3rd Biblical age, to duplicate our history of rebellion—humanity as creators with creations …we can’t control, causing us GRIEF, like we have long caused The Lord GREAT GRIEF! And what if its arrival on the scene is ‘in the fullness of time…’, just as The Lord manages everything to manifest right-on-time in accordance to His strategic plan for us? If so, the ‘fullness of time’ might be prior to the pending transition to the 4th Biblical age before so many of us will possibly be resurrected/raptured, and others will perish during the pending 6th seal event, and later, in the apocalypse.
Ponder this…
Can you imagine our Creator missing such a strategic opportunity
to use the apex of our creation, to allow us, the apex of His creation,
to experience a taste of the GRIEF we have caused,
and are increasingly causing Him?!
Selah…
