Shocking reversals catch us TOTALLY off guard, forcing us to wrestle with situations we likely never expected or even imagined! We live in a fragile, over-populated, polarized world, with seriously warped distribution of the necessary resources for living. As such, perhaps we should not be ‘blown away’ when shocking reversals suddenly occur. But we generally are, even when they have been predicted by the wise and intuitive among us.
In this regard, we who are alive today, are exactly as people who preceded us in history, and also those who will follow us. Though we have broader, deeper insights than most of our ancestors, shocking reversals still get the best of us. Humanity has apparently not been wise enough to get over this hump.
The Bible is the best aid I have found to help address this conundrum. Its prophetic writings, far more clearly and iteratively than any other, have accurately predicted and prepared those who are wise, for many shocking reversals, whether good or bad. Moreover, with an 80+ percent success rate, it should give us much more of a collective agreement that its remaining predictions shall occur in The Lord’s manner and time.
Like building up to orchestral crescendo, The Bible excels is not only in giving us some helpful insights about future shocking reversals. It also gives us many signs and signals that foreshadow their arrival! Folks, that’s GRACE@Work! So why doesn’t the intensity with which we DISLIKE shocking reversals, motivate more of us to dig into ITS pages, and to live with expectancy, even JoY to see how unfolding events across our world, prove our faith?? That’s a thought worthy of deep personal meditation.
