How to Destroy an Economy (Poem)

To many of you, this may come as quite a surprise.

Please let me know if it may be such to you:

A ‘great economy’ concept, man did not devise.

Tell me, is this is something you already knew?

Before the foundations of Earth were laid,

The Almighty had this concept in mind.

Even when Adam ate fruit God forbade,

God still planned economies for mankind.

Across the millennia of human history,

Many great economies have been built,

Attesting to the strength of our ingenuity.

Most failed when folk lost …any sense of guilt!

Sadly, we have been just as ingenuous,

In destroying many great economies we built.

As of past failures we don’t remain conscious,

Any economy will join those in failure’s ilk.

              

Ponder these deadly evils to an economy.

As you read, perceive what patterns you may detect.

Try to see them from God’s perspective, heavenly,

As aspects of your economy, you inspect.

1.  Folk lose hope when honest work is undervalued.

     That’s when cheating and scheming ‘to get by’ explode!

2.  From this, selfishness and impatient greed obtrude.

     Soon, moral turpitude of citizens erodes.

3.  As fish rot from the head, treachery rots nations.

     Once this evil takes root, loss of trust is its fruit.

4.  Greed for power spawns weak and inept leadership.

     This often produces leaders who become brute!

5.  Brute leaders accentuate strong defense capability.

     But WOE when this tool triggers military over-reach.

6.  In fear, inept leaders lean to mis-guided alliances.

     Beware the lessons a nation’s alliances can teach!

7.  Each point above alone could trigger increased debt loads.

     Together, they’d easily sink any nation’s budget!

8.  Economic idol worship attracts devils’ payloads,

     As all things godly increasingly get …the short-circuit!

9.  For individuals, families and nations alike,

     Pride is the taproot, the mother-load of all sin.

10.When it matures, folks’ favor of & from God’ take a hike!!!

     That’s when The Lord has opened His ‘nations trash bin’!

So that’s it, Friends, a synopsis of what I’ve learned,

From reading of ancient nations in Bible history.

If about your own nation you may be concerned,

Start from the bottom of my list, fight pride, incessantly!

Imagine this: God Who IS Love, hates pride,

From prideful people-to-nations, and anything in between.

So don’t let devils take you on their ride.

Why?? Your nation’s pride is fed by your own pridefulness …unseen.

Mind Blowing, or Opening?

Then He¹ called out in my hearing with a loud voice, saying, “Let those who have charge over the city² draw near, each with a deadly weapon in his hand.” And suddenly six men³ came from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with his battle-ax in his hand. One man among them was clothed with linen and had a writer’s inkhorn at his side. They went in and stood beside the bronze altar.

Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn at his side; and The Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men⁴ who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”

To the others⁵ He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity. Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple. Then He said to them, “Defile the temple, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” And they went out and killed in the city. So it was, that while they were killing them, I was left alone; and I fell on my face and cried out, and said, “Ah, Lord God! Will You destroy all the remnant of Israel in pouring out Your fury on Jerusalem?” ⁶

Then He said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity; for they say, ‘The Lord has forsaken the land, and the Lord does not see!’ 10 And as for Me also, My eye will neither spare, nor will I have pity, but I will recompense their deeds on their own head.”

Just then, the man clothed with linen, who had the inkhorn at his side, reported back and said, “I have done as You commanded me.” ⁷

Take Away: Righteousness exalts a nation,

but sin is a reproach to any people.

(Proverbs 14:34)

⁶ About a century before this vision occurred, Jews in Israel (the 10 northern tribes of the split nation) had been invaded, killed and/or captured during the Neo-Assyrian invasion, God’s punishing judgments for their un-repented sinfulness. In Ezekiel’s vision, the same types of judgments were being spiritually enacted for Judah, the remaining 2 southern tribes of the split nation.

⁷ Years later, folk who were ‘spiritually slain’ in Ezekiel’s vision were physically slain or otherwise died during the several years of siege and eventual invasion of Judah and its capital, Jerusalem, by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Folk who were ‘spiritually marked’ were spared, and were carried off as captives/slaves to Babylon. This group included Daniel and his 3 friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Ever heard of them? ;o)

wOw! Earth, Filled (Poem, Part 2)

The well-worn adage, ‘Seeing is believing’,

Dulls our minds and blocks imagination’s insight.

Thus, for things un-seen, we’ve lost our appetite,

Until we are not …believing what we’re seeing!!

Do you believe The Bible’s predictive capability?

Jesus, for a thousand years, based in Israel,

Center of Earth’s government, political,

Or do you simply dismiss it all, categorically??

To humanity and the Earth alike,

Three promises glorious to us have been made.

Across The Bible’s ages and pages displayed.

Promises fashioned, attention to spike!

‘With knowledge of The Lord, knowledge of,

and with His glory,

One day soon, all of the Earth will be filled.’ ¹

But by this, many folks then won’t be thrilled!

And today, for these promises, many aren’t hungry. ²

But given The Bible’s predictive success rate thus far,

I, for one, want to know, ‘When and how can this be,

And what potentially may be in it …for me??’

If you’re like me, pray The Lord our vision to un-mar.

Imagine God’s Throne… emerald rainbow encircled,

All Earth occupied, goodness to pursue.

Imagine the sky, emerald then its hue.

Evil overthrown; Earth’s atmosphere …remodeled. ³

Imagine Earth… by Heaven’s armies occupied!

Christ, His saints and angels governing all lands,

Every mortal soul obeying their commands.

After God’s most harsh judgments, Earth now beautified. ⁴

Imagine us saints… there’s something’s unique

you must know:

Not only immortal shall each one of us then be.

But to God’s glory promises, here’s another key:

To the immortals, just like Jesus, we each shall …GLOW!!!

Here’s how and why…

On the day we prayed and embraced His Son,

Into our hearts God made a deposit,

The gift of His glowing Holy Spirit.

A down-payment of things that are to come.

You see…

In the spirit realm, His Spirit is LIGHT.

So that’s exactly what you, too, would see,

If your mortal eyes could see your glory,

Just like the starry hosts glow in night. ⁵

Now again…

Imagine us saints, each in our own full glory state,

Like Jesus, in Ezekiel’s vision.

John saw Him, too, in his Patmos prison.

We’ll be like Adam, before forbidden fruit he ate. ⁶

Across the post-tribulation world assigned,

To rule mortals under Christ’s authority,

Judging in righteousness, our priority,

Glory from His Throne and us will be …combined! ⁷

Voila! God’s three glory promises at once achieved!

All over the world, glory on display,

No one to contradict or dare gainsay.

For a thousand years, no devils here, no one deceived!

Friend,

Do you hunger for this promised state of being?

Or does the very thought make you shudder?

If your life is filled with sinful clutter,

Join Christ so in your light others ...will be beaming.

¹ Three separate promises: Numbers 14:21 (the glory), Isaiah 11:9 (the knowledge), and Habakkuk 2:14 (knowledge of the glory of The Lord).

² Mortals who survive God’s coming tribulation judgments will not be thrilled when these three promises suddenly materialize in front of their eyes. And today, many Christians (both the true and the so-called) display little-to-no hunger for these promises to be realized.

Into the ring, a new flu virus stepped, un-recognized,

Then quickly morphed into the Spanish Flu pandemic.

In two years, countless souls globally had been eulogized,

Because folk denied, then minimized dangers. Classic!

They tried everything they could think of, much too late.

Just as quickly as it started, the pandemic ended. ¹

And now today folk wonder, ‘What might be our fate?,’

As by another new virus our lives are upended. ²

[Selah~]

Trying everything we can think of, as in ages past,
From scientific advice, to just plane ole hunches,
Yet failing to stop and ponder …whether of God to ask.
Many only do this when suffering life’s punches.

Today, science and the stocks have become the gods,
That we consult and heavily lean upon,
Lumping The Almighty in with the fake news frauds.
No wonder some react to Him with …a yawn.

With powerful microscopes, into the unknown we peer,

To expand ‘scientific doctrines’ in which we trust.

But science is limited to the physical frontier,

Incapable of perceiving what God says …we must!

There’s a realm into which microscopes can’t see,
restricted,

Our ‘parent realm’ from which derive all things physical.

Only in God’s Holy Bible is this realm
depicted.

Denying it, we’re blind to His realm, spiritual.

Viruses transmit through moisture bits between us passed,

And that settle on surfaces we jointly touch.

Today, it’s through data bits much sinfulness is masked.

To every opportunity to sin, we clutch.

[Selah~]

Though more prepared for punches from forces biological,

Given our science and our affluence financial,
We remain largely blind to punches from those spiritual,
Because we reject God’s sage advice in His Bible.

While we can’t see all foes biological,

We can see horrible damages some cause.

We can see many sins, diabolical,
Yet we’re prone to deny damages they cause!

Friends, carefully listen to Heaven’s voice,

God’s message in this Age of His Grace,

To each of us He’s offering a choice.

Here’s the message I hope you’ll embrace:

Both Heaven and Earth have a serious problem.

Both relate to ‘carrying capacity’,

But they are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

The problem is about …their citizenry.
Listen,

Given lifestyles today, Earth is over-populated, ³

Unable to sustain payloads procreated.

But it is these very lifestyles, when exacerbated,

That have rendered Heaven …under-populated!

Clinging to your sinful lifestyles with ardor,

You ignore warnings of payment eternal.

You reject Heaven’s citizenship offer,

While to fake news about it, you’re gullible.

~o~

Friends,

If it is mostly in suffering life’s punches,

That Heaven can capture the world’s attention,

Rather than every Heavenly thing that blesses,

Could more punches address …both situations?  ⁴

So,

Will we then know …He is The Lord???

Take a Praise Break

In (not necessarily for) every thing give thanks,

Let every thing that has breath praise The Lord.

HERE's WHY:

Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants,
You have ordained spiritual strength (PRAISE)

because of Your enemies, 

so You can silence/STOP our enemy, the avenger.

(Psalm 8:2)

So if you are breathing, YOU QUALIFY, so let's get to it!

A People, Un-walled (Poem, Part 2)

Walls, walls…

With great walls, history is certainly replete.

Problems without or within, they’re built to defeat.

In days past, walls were cities’ main defense.

Today, for nations, walls make little sense.

By governments, militaries and alliances,

On guard against any external imbalances,

Nations today lean on this defense trifecta.

But for these, The Lord has …another agenda!

God told Ezekiel, in chapter 38,

One day, ‘an un-walled  people’ will be Israel’s fate.

Difficult to imagine? For most it certainly is.

But to understand, there’s no need to be a Bible wiz.

Defense trifecta on which nations now rely,

Are like a three-legged stool in God’s mind and eye.

Though appearing to be well-balanced and quite sturdy,

If one leg is short, the load becomes topsy-turvy!

When might some defense trifecta legs become short,

Or perhaps kicked out from under the load they support?

Let’s take a peek contextual into coming dark days,

To see ‘Israel un-walled’ as Ezekiel portrays.

To demonstrate that He indeed is God Almighty,

He sometimes removes ‘sticks’ we lean on so heavily. ¹

Ummm, what would a defenseless Israel look like?

What might such prove to it and onlookers alike?

After Christ raptures up to Heaven His saints, faithful,

All remaining life on Earth will quickly unravel.

Institutions on which life depends will utterly fail,

And chaos across the globe will increasingly prevail. ²

Into this void, a strong man shall emerge,

And by intrigue, governments he shall urge.

To him powers will be delegated,

And over time, folk will be placated. ³

             

But when God rains down tribulation judgments,

On mankind, His most harsh ever sin payments,

Again, across the world, all hell will break loose,

And delegated powers may be abused. ⁴

First…

Alliances between nations might quickly vanish,

And folk everywhere become incredibly selfish!

‘Each one for self!’ Into hopelessness they all slide,

Because from God’s punishing blows, no one can hide!

Then They Will Know (Part 1)

Any serious student of The Bible will quickly discern God’s deep-rooted desire for people to ‘know I am The Lord.’ This phrase frequently echoes across the pages of His holy writ. Sometimes, God declares He will be so known when an unbelievable blessing or miracle has occurred after having been predicted by a prophet. Many more times, however, He declares He will be so known just as some catastrophic judgment is unfolding, wiping out those who are most severely judged, or just after such, leaving a judgment-remnant to come to this knowledge. ¹

At this current time in human history, we hear and learn far less of unbelievable blessings or miracles, but we are figuratively ‘up to our ears’ in crisis-after-crisis! Since The Lord, as Sovereign God, iteratively accentuates His control and direct interventions in the affairs of mankind ², it behooves us to:

(a) be both attentive to, and instructed by what He has said, and

(b) use this as a lens through which to understand the spiritual significance of crises we are experiencing.

It may seem rather easy to connect-the-dots when God has spoken through a prophet, directly to a people, and the event prophesized later materializes. What I scratch my head about is when He instructs a prophet in one location, to speak either to, or about a people in a distant location (Jews and Gentiles alike), and then concludes with, ‘Then they shall know I am The Lord.’ This leaves me pondering:

Ok, we understand to or about whom He is speaking, and what predicted event will trigger their knowing, but how will they know that He is The Lord, especially Gentiles who were far away from the speaker, and who presumably did not know God at all. ³

On the latter point, The Bible iteratively illustrates God’s modus operandi includes triggering faith in some person to the point of believing, speaking and then acting on His Word. I imagine Him planting Word seed in the Earth realm, seed that germinate and produce His fruit when received in human hearts.

Moreover, I ponder how ‘The Lord Who does not change’ expects people today to know He is The Lord? He declares, ‘For I am The Lord, I do not change’. While His nature and His strategy in dealing with humans do not change, His tactics apparently do change. ⁴

In this Age of Grace, God speaks to us believers directly through His Son, Jesus Christ, and indirectly through believers to the unbelieving world. And His most harsh judgment crises will speak LOUDLY to people during the tribulation period. In both these periods, though people will understand He is The Lord, they still will not believe in Him, nor embrace Him as Savior and Lord. ⁵

So does this infer He does not speak to us now through judgment crises?? I do not know, for sure, but this is abundantly clear:

Through church attendance and other ways,

people who are not normally ‘spiritually-minded’

suddenly become so in times of crises!

To me, this suggests they may have some latent spiritual insights and awareness, like seeds that only germinate in the stress of crises, but that never bear fruits of repentance and a fundamentally changed life. Perhaps this might have been the case of ancient, sinful Gentile nations noted in The Bible, nations that were judged and came to ‘know God is The Lord’ at the very point of their downfall. ³

Moreover, in His Grace-amazing, crises today may well be ‘the leading edge’ of the coming, worse tribulation crises. They may be a foretaste, if you will, of what’s on the horizon, and time to anticipate, prepare for, and decide to embrace His offer to escape, which is salvation in Jesus as Christ and Lord.

So what do you think? Are Heaven’s messages encoded in crises today? If so, what, and if not, why not? Many believe crises are merely continuing evidence of ‘the fallenness’ of our God-rejecting world, with no specific correlations to particular sinfulness. ⁶
