The Bible asserts there will be three major attacks in Israel during the 4th and 6th ages of history -- two in the tribulation age (Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 19), and one in the post-Millennial Reign age (Revelation 20). It provides a variety of signals about the timing and purposes of each attack. Historically, past attacks on Jerusalem were motivated by the immense wealth with which it was blessed. The Lord strategically used such wealth to attract invading armies to judge Israel, in the north, and Judah and Jerusalem, in the south. But in the future attacks, His strategic rationales will be redirected to judge the three attacking army coalitions!
1.1st War of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38 and Zechariah 14)
This attack will be on ‘the mountains of Israel’. The invaders will be five national armies: Persia (Iran), Ethiopia, Libya, plus Gomer and Togarmah from the far north (of Israel). It appears the plan will be instigated by demon spirits, Gog and Magog, then assigned over the (current) Russian territory. This attack will likely be triggered by the narrow, but critical needs for basic necessities of life during the predicted, 42-month-long apocalypse across the plague-smitten world: ‘silver, gold, livestock, goods, and great plunder.’ This attack might occur when the ‘plagues-stressed’ world realizes Israel will have been relatively protected from the plagues, e.g., similar to how the land of Goshen was protected from the last 7 of The Lord’s 10 pre-exodus plagues on Egypt. (See: The Goshen Effect (Series). Zechariah 14:12 may be how The Lord will dramatically end this attack.)
2. Armageddon War (Revelation 19:17-21)
This attempted attack will be ‘in the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon’, also referred to as the valley of Mount Megiddo. Some time after (perhaps in response to) the 1st War of Gog and Magog, the remaining armies across the world will gather to attack The Lord and His massive army of immortal saints, glowing like aliens. The attack will be futile from the start, as The Lord will speak a word that will instantly consume/dissolve this massive army, perhaps also as gruesomely predicted in Zechariah 14:12. His response will signal the end of the apocalypse and of the 4th short age of human history (the tribulation age), and the start of His Millennial Reign, as Earth's Global King.
3. 2nd War of Gog and Magog (Revelation 20:7-10)
This attack will occur some time after The Lord's Millennial Reign, what I refer to as the short post-Millennial Reign age. It might likely be an attempt to seize the tremendous amount of wealth that will have accumulated in Jerusalem during Christ’s Millennial Reign, the results of people the world over trying to curry favor from/with Jesus, global King. (See: Isaiah 60) People alive then might likely have forgotten about, or will ignore the history of how the above-two attacks in Israel ended! This failed attempt will signal the end of the post-Millennial Reign age, the end of human history on this current version of Earth, and the start of The Lord's Great White Throne Judgment process. (See: Revelation 20) The Bible is clear this event, mankind's final rebellion against The Lord God, will end human history on this current version on Earth, and will start our two vastly different experiences on His long-promised, and likely already created new, eternal Earth.
