They cheered for choice, for freedom’s reign,
No mandates, masks, no rules, no chain.
‘Let us decide what for us, is right…!’
Then sicknesses stole into their night.
A cough, a fever, and breaths then slow,
Children soon gone, parents’ grief will grow.
What once was strong and loud defiance,
Turned into long, silent repentance.
‘Herd immunity’, friends were denied.
Sadly parents learned what could betide.
When with us, ourselves, we’re concerned,
Don’t be surprised when lives upturn.
In crowded lands and communities,
We need broad-based ‘herd immunity’,
To limit outbreaks of pestilence!
Not just more personal preference!!

Voters
Ballots were cast, convictions were firm.
Then sorrows grew, with warnings confirmed!
The hope and trust placed in their choice,
Has turned into …voters’ remorse.
If only Truth they should’ve perceived,
And it, not lies, they could’ve believed.
They join protesting choruses,
To deal with mounting challenges.
Lessons not learned reverberate,
Across landscapes of lives, of late.
‘One-issue’-type voters now confront,
Chaos that covers a broader front!
Voters’ remorse for choices made,
Feeling as if they’ve been betrayed,
Winner’s honeymoon ended so soon.
The next election can’t come too soon!

Sinners
Today somebody, somewhere has died,
A slow or quick end to one’s life’s stride.
He or she, whomever it was,
Knows what’s beyond their life’s main cause.
Sinner’s remorse, or saint’s joys confirmed,
In hell one’s set, or in bliss affirmed.
Facing regrets, or grateful for Grace,
In fire encased, or by Love embraced.
As tripartite immortals we’re designed. 1
To choose in life, with whom we’ll align. 2
The choice is clear, results affirmed,
And non-belief won’t change what’s firm.
In death, bipartite, we’ll all live on,
Till we’re raised-up, new bodies adorned. 3
Sinners then judged; in fire they’ll be cast. 4
Saints in life judged, their Glory then lasts…
When from post-decision dissonance, we learn to rebound,
We’ll have good-decision cognizance, the ‘next time around’!
Only in death, will this point not apply!!
Make your ‘best decision’ before you die!!!
Our ‘best decision?’ Pray tell what’s that??
It’s the one in death you won’t regret:
Whether to embrace or reject, in life,
Grace to you extended by Jesus Christ. 2
----------
1 We were all designed and created in the image of Jesus Christ, as tripartite, immortal beings -- spirit, soul and body. Though Adam’s sin subjected every human to bodily death, in death, our immortal parts will live on, with FULL cognizance and sentience. This is what The Bible iteratively affirms, pending our bodily resurrection, when we’ll again be tripartite immortal beings.
2 Jesus Christ, The Sovereign Lord God and Creator, designed life of Earth as our ‘decision-making stage’. His major decision placed before us is whether with His Kingdom of Good, or satan’s kingdom of evil, we will align, eternally. (See: Prayer of Salvation (Poem).)
