Who Will Judge Whom?
While The Bible iteratively affirms Father God has delegated ALL judgments to Jesus, The Lord God, Paul indicates Jesus will delegate judgment of angels to His tested/proven saints. Are you ready for that?! Paul does not reveal which angels we will judge, or when that judgment will occur. This is what I intuit:
The Bible attests that human saints will stand before The Lord’s judgment seat for our performance/good works to be scrutinized. This might either occur sequentially when the various ‘first resurrection’ groups will enter into Heaven, or possibly when all of His saints will be together in Heaven. (See: Biblical Raptures – Types and Timings (Series)) Paul signals that we immortal saints ‘will judge angels’. It is unclear which group of angels we will judge. Here’s what I intuit:
On behalf of ALL humanity, we might judge satan’s entire kingdom of fallen angels who will have dogged humanity’s paths, and filled our minds with deceptions and temptations to rebel against The Lord. If so, that might occur during The Lord’s Great White Throne judgment event, noted in Revelation 20:11-15.
Moreover, since a contingent of the faithful angels are assigned to serve us saints during our salvation internships, we might have a hand in assessing/judging their performances during their likely ‘first field assignments’, and who knows, possibly their performances during their ‘second field assignments’ in the Millennial Reign age. That would logically require us to receive relevant insights of The Lord’s assignments He will have given to them during those periods.
Conclusion
I understand this scenario may be complex to conceive. So let’s imagine a global company that needs to hire two large, new teams of future top level executives. It decides to create an introductory internship (basic training). Graduates of those internships are given a series of diverse jobs over many years to learn how the company operates. Next, the company creates a few long-term field assignments for those workers who passed the internships. The performances of those workers during the field assignments will be the basis for their assignments in various levels of future, top level executive positions. In a standard professional trajectory, a single internship program prepares ‘newbies’ for entry-level work. But major promotions into long-term, possibly rotating, executive leadership roles require proven, excellent field assignments.
I perceive angels’ internships were to reveal how they would exercise their free will during the time they served The Lord, prior to Lucifer’s rebellion. Only two-thirds proved to be faithful. I perceive humans’ internships are to reveal how we will exercise our free-will across the entirety of human history on this current version of Earth, before it and the universe will be destroyed, per 2 Peter 3:10 and Revelation 21:1. Tragically, The Bible reveals only a small minority of us will have passed The Lord’s salvation internships!
I perceive angels’ field assignments are their assignments to serve human saints during this current version of life on Earth, and also their pending assignments during the Millennial Reign age. I perceive the field assignments of humans will be our unique, personal assignments during the Millennial Reign age.
This scenario is derived from my professional experience in USAID, to help us to understand how the mystery of The Lord’s love for progressiveness might be illustrated and understood for Christians today who are in His current internship program, and how The Millennial Reign age might prepare us for His planned, eternal assignments.
As we approach the end of this current 3rd Biblical age of human history, The Bible predicts a GREAT falling away from the Christian faith. Many former Christians might return to STRONG faith once they will realize they will have missed Heaven’s next resurrection/rapture event! Many of them who will be steadfast in resisting the ‘mark of the beast’ during the 4th age, will be martyred for Christ. (See: Revelation 7:9-17) Both those martyrs and any remaining, alive saints will be ‘raptured’ onto the cloud of The Lord’s return at the end of the apocalypse, depicted in Matthew 24:29-31. But wouldn’t it be GREAT if more Christians TODAY understood this sequence more clearly, and would remain strong in their faith either until they die, or are raptured alive at the end of this current age?! That prospect is my passion, and why I publish messages such as this.
Too many of us might think Christianity is meant to be a mere ‘touchstone’ rather than like a challenging internship or army basic training program. Only we who will be faithful until death or be raptured alive, will pass The Lord’s test, and receive glorious assignments during His Millennial Reign and throughout eternity. As you ponder that prospect, regularly ask yourself:
Thus far in my life, am I passing or failing
The Lord’s basic internship, performance probation test
tailored for me??
