Since
our youth, we have all been so well indoctrinated.
On
fables and fairy tales, we’ve been well educated.
Taught
and instructed to believe what is simply not true,
And
as we grew, many such things we refused to eschew.
Santa
Clause, Tooth Fairy, Cinderella... are but a few,
Of
the tales used to try to teach us a bit of virtue.
But
in their teaching, can you now likely conceive,
Seeds
were planted to shape what and how we believe?
Bible
Truths we received in the very same vein,
As
fables and fairy tales, even those inane.
‘A virgin birth, sins, and
resurrection from the dead?!
C’mon, Man, what other tales are
swirling in your head?!’
If
this reflects attitudes you or others may yack,
Then
you may be ripe for a ‘belief system hack’.
From
youth, the course of our lives has been clearly set,
To
believe whatever would... our appetites
whet.
Appetites
whetted, we now face the vicissitudes,
Of
a real, unstoppable avalanche of fake news!
So
called ‘news’ from any domestic or worldwide source,
That
we so easily embrace, and ‘must share’
perforce!
Some
we share because we ‘want to
believe it’s true’.
Others
we share because sharing is ‘cool to do’.
Well,
here’s a take on something
really worth believing is true,
Something
the only real God has said...
to the only real you:
‘I’m here, I’m real, and I created
everything, even you.
Because you’re sinful, I sent Jesus
to live and die for you.
Born of a virgin because I wanted it
that way,
So His blood at death could wash all
of your sins away.
Other things you’ve heard, consider
the source they are of.
Eschew fake news! Then seek to know
The Truth of My Love.
Embrace it now and escape the
penalty,
Of believing all the fake news about
Me.’ *
We
each have buried deep inside of us,
A ‘decider’ we know and grow to trust.
By
it, and it alone we get to decide,
What’s
true or false; what to believe or deride.
While
‘fact checking’ is easy with fast
technology,
If
facts don’t matter, we’ll have our own mythology!
So
if mythology is what we are after,
Why all the worry and fuss...
about
some hacker?!
