Why Jews Rejected Jesus (Poem)

That Jews rejected Jesus is a historical fact.

We know the when, where and the how of this horrible act.

As to why, we each may have our own ideas.

Was it a case of ‘collective paranoia’? ¹

Was it was because He ‘so disrespected the Sabbath’?

Or saying, ‘I’m The Son of God’...via Nazareth?!

Or that He ‘cast out demons ‘via Beelzebub’?

Could these be why Jews gave Jesus their ‘holy snub’?

Going around healing folks like crazy,

Disrespecting the national clergy,

Disturbing the ‘peace’ of folk who were dead --

Leaders couldn’t afford to have this stuff spread!!

So they plotted their tricks and traps that were so clever,

Anyway to get Him on ‘crucifixion’s platter!’

But in all their ‘t’ crossing and ‘i’ dotting,

They were the real target of all their plotting!

All their devilish schemes were mere tools in the Hand,

Of God who had long ago spoken His own plan --

One He had written in Genesis 3:15,

That mankind and creation, He’d one day redeem.

Jesus’ words are spirit, and angels obey.

God uses words, you see, spirit to convey.

You see...

Jewish leaders missed this point, and fell into a trap!

Between the words and spirit, there is a big ole gap!

With Jesus, they focused on the letter of The Law, ²

And therefore, lines in the sand, they felt they had to draw!

Jesus messed with their minds,

and all their lines drawn in the sand.

They missed the spirit of The Law,

and God’s salvation plan.

This, my Friend, is why the Jews rejected Jesus,

And I’m so glad they did, so Grace could come to us.

A future day is coming, and it will be so fierce,

Jews will see and then embrace, the very One they pierced. ³

While the Jewish story will have a joyful end,

There’s another story, and evil it portends.

By too many Gentiles, to whom Grace has been reflected,

Jesus today is still overwhelmingly rejected.

Like the Jews, they, too have fallen into a gap,

In Satan’s ‘Great Anti-Christ Plan (G.A.P.),

they have been trapped.

With the faithless Jews, their seeing will lead to believing,

But with us Gentiles, God requires faith for perceiving.

Do not be so surprised that God has different strategies.

For these groups, He’s also got different formalities.

‘A kingdom of priests and a holy nation’, for one.

The other, ‘sub-kings’... at least in the New Millennium. ⁴

Friend, by this, my rhyming poem,

I hope you’re now more informed,

On why, then and now, Jews reject Jesus,

And why that’s GOOD for all the rest of us!
