As I approached the
U.S. continental divide,
On a very long
drive, coming from the eastern coast,
With the successive
mountain peaks I was so engrossed.
Appearing so close,
crossing them would be one joyride!
Ahhh… once I crossed the first peak,
Surprised, I
thought, ‘Well look at that!’
The relief of the
land …was flat!
I was shocked
beyond belief.
It was over a
hundred miles to the next peak,
Yet approaching it
gave the same sentiment,
That the next
mountain peak would be imminent.
This sequence
repeated itself, peak-after-peak.
For a long time,
similar misperceptions were sown,
Among Abraham’s
descendant generations,
Leading them to
believe devilish deceptions,
That Jehovah God
was for them, and for them alone.
Looking across the
horizon of ancient prophecies,
They downplayed the
ones about salvation for foreigners.
Dominant
influencers were ‘prophecy discounters’,
As they focused on
The Lord’s Messianic promises.
Focusing only on
The Lord’s Messianic mountain peaks,
They sorely missed
His Age (valley) of Grace to all nations.
Persecuting those
who preached that Gentiles could be God’s sons,
Professing to be
wise, they just were Old Testament
pipsqueaks! 1
Now imagine similar
scenarios playing out today,
Among many
Bible-believing Christians across our world.
Major Messianic
prophecies that are yet to unfurl,
Discounted or
discarded in their Messianic peaks
survey.
Focusing only on
Christ’s return, the new Earth and Heaven,
Eternity’s heavenly
bliss, and all that entails,
They deny all the
lengthy valleys Scripture unveils.
Like the
continental divide, their perspectives are wanton.
‘When Christ returns, then the end
will come’,
this focus they maintain. 2

Discounting Bible
clues about how the end shall unfold.

Thus, from some
pulpits, believers in the pews are told,
‘There’ll be no rapture, tribulation or Millennial Reign!’
Just like the world
of ancient Jewish scholars was rocked,
By the notion of
Gentile salvation,
By a protracted, age-ending notion,
The world of some believers
today may soon …be rocked.
While God’s hints
and clues in His Word, apocalyptical,
May be a challenge
to perceive and to understand,
Devils would love for
us to discount and countermand,
Bible insights for
our great hope, eschatological.
They fully comprehend
God’s intent …and their end,
And the protracted
process by which it’ll all unfurl.
Their job is to
deceive, thus deceptions they will hurl.
RESIST!!! Don’t abet
their job …or your fall portend!

I agree with your poem, Valleys Between the Peaks. It’s interesting how history repeats itself when believers are doing what the Sanhedrin did in the time of The Messiah. They discounted Scripture to form their own beliefs. It’s very strange to watch people do this. When they are challenged, anger usually is the typical response. It’s very strange to me. I like being challenged in my understanding of Scripture because it’s an opportunity to grow, spiritually.

ReplyDeleteA keen spiritual eye will easily perceive the taproot of ‘history repeating itself’. It simply is spiritually blind folks yielding to the same ole temptations devils played on previous generations! Devils and demons have thousands of years of SUCCESSFUL experience getting humans to bite their temptations bait. Thus, they really have no need to modify their tactics used on us. They very well know the timeline The Lord has laid out in The Bible for human history —7 ages, including eternity; we’re now in the 3rd age. And they know their final destination — the eternal lake of fire, somewhere on The Lord’s promised new Earth. Their aim is to corrupt as many of us as possible so we will also suffer in their eternal punishment! Hence, they are patient to just wait for succeeding generations of humans who are pretty much guaranteed to bite their same ole bait. And BITE we so easily do! The fruits of our biting ‘appears as’ history repeating itself.
The only way out of this conundrum is greatly increasing our collective spiritual eyesight. But this is an up-hill struggle since the overwhelming majority of us only believe what we can see. Moreover, with unbelievable disasters and other strange occurrences all across the world, lots of folks now say, they don’t even believe what they see!! So if they don’t believe what they can’t see, nor what they now see, they are TOTALLY FAITHLESS! Devils can really ‘work with that’, guaranteed.
