fruits from seeds of its two ancient versions—
even as the world acts similarly!
~o~
Pray tell, what question does
this puzzling statement trigger you to ask?
I ponder how can we read any part of The Bible, especially The Old Testament, and miss both the question and answer to this puzzling statement. Yet that seems to be exactly what we, in general, do, and also what the U.S. and much of the western world has been doing since 1948.
Just to be clear, I FULLY SUPPORT and CLEARLY UNDERSTAND The Lord God’s multi-millennial strategy for Israel on this current Earth. Period! I ESPECIALLY SUPPORT His clearly articulated, eternal strategy for a relatively small remnant of Jacob’s descendants on the MASSIVE, new, eternal Earth He promised to create in Isaiah 65:17, 66:22 and in Revelation 21 and 22. 1
The question the above puzzling statement aims to trigger is this:
What are the seeds and fruits of
Israel’s ancient versions that cause
the world to act similarly today?
The U.S. and other western nations act in ways that indicate they may be clueless to the answer. That reveals a deep misunderstanding of The Lord’s original, iteratively-stated strategy for Israel—which it originally embraced, fresh out of Egyptian slavery. But later generations flat out REJECTED it in their strong desire to be just like other peoples. Their stubborn, deepening rejections caused The Lord immense angst, and prompted Him to dispatch prophet-after-prophet to issue threat-after-increasing threats of His pending, disastrous judgments, unless they changed their grossly-sinful lifestyles. His (paraphrased) answer to my puzzling question above:
Trust in Me, continually and demonstrably,
in every aspect of your national and personal lives.
As you do, I WILL ‘have your backs,’
i.e., meet your needs and righteous desires.
Subsequent generations heard of, but increasingly discounted His earlier, wonderous works on their behalf. But He was constrained to withhold many, later, planned wonders because of their sinfulness. They failed to ‘connect-the-dots’ between their sins, and His dwindling support for them. Their deepening desires to sin, was far greater than:
(a) Their beliefs in His promise to bless and protect them, perpetually, and
(b) Their beliefs in His prophet-sent threats, so they slaughtered many prophets—their Jewish kinsmen.
Colloquially speaking,
The juice (of His protections and blessings),
wasn’t worth the squeeze (of their living righteously).
Though The Lord tolerated this situation for centuries, His Grace to them finally expired, and His iterative judgments (justice) ramped up, with a vengeance! We all know how that ended.
Bottom line: Ancient Israel (which was split into 2 nations) was designed to be a demonstration-effect model for the nations, through which The Lord would teach us ALL the same lesson! The nations’ never perceived, and thus, never learned His intended lesson. As a result, century-after-century, and millennia-after-millennia, they were, and continue to be trapped in The Lord’s same judgments spiral in which ancient Israel and Judah were earlier trapped—trusting in EVERYTHING/ANYTHING BUT HIM!!
Caught in devilish grips of our modern version of their sins, today, nations’ ‘crutch-like’ military and economic support to modern Israel, merely perpetuates the kinds of problems its ancient versions had. And since circa AD 200, this support has also drawn all nations into The Lord’s much bigger judgment dragnets—perpetual cycles of famines, wild beast attacks, wars, pestilences, and later, the promised global impacts when He opens the 6th seal on His scroll, and finally, the promised ~42-month apocalypse. 2
Nevertheless, The Lord’s long-term strategy WILL be achieved:
1. For a while, on this current version of Earth (think: The Millennial Reign age), then
2. Eternally, on the brand new, MASSIVE eternal Earth promised in Scripture.
During the Millennial Reign age—the 7th aged of human history—He and His (then) immortal saints from the first 4 ages of history will enforce His brand of righteousness, globally, until people born in that age learn what ancient Israel, Judah, and ALL nations, failed/refused to learn.
During the eternal age—the 7th aged of human history—The Lord’s bona fide saints from across the 6 ages on this current Earth, will be people who will have previously learned to trust in Him. Thus, they will enjoy the full measure of His blessings, eternally.
These are the un-mistakable
messages and conclusions in The Bible!
Ponder this ‘What if?’ scenario:
1. Adam and Eve learned lessons they failed to learn in Eden.
2. Ancient Israel/Judah learned lessons they failed to learn in Palestine.
3. All nations learned lessons they failed to learn across the world.
4. All life on Earth has since been Eden-like.
5. Our history of sin, strife and struggle never happened.
6. Our future will be as GLORIOUS as our past.
Behold, The Lord’s original, strategic, choice-driven, plan for humanity.
But… because we all failed to learn His lesson,
Behold, life on Earth has been
The Lord’s revised, tragic, force-driven plan for our humility. 3

1 Christians today may totally misinterpret Paul’s point in Romans 11:26 that every descendant of Jacob will be saved. That may be the result of reading verses out of context of the entire message and strategy across The Bible. Only a relatively small remnant will eternally fulfill The Lord’s original plan for Israel, stated in Exodus 19:6.
See: Out of My Way, USA! (Poem). See also: Zephaniah 3:8-13 and Zechariah 13:8-9--a summary of The Lord’s apocalypse and post-apocalypse plans for the nations, and Israel, respectively.
2 See the table in: Israel, A Model (Part 3).
3 Might it be too late, and the die irreversibly is set for Israel and the nations to be brought to national and personal repentance, as Ninevites once did, avoiding The Lord’s promised judgment?? Alas, even they resorted to their sinful lifestyles, and ergo suffered from The Lord’s annihilation! Apparently, ‘the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze’. See: God’s Problem (Poem).
