The Sin→War Connection (Poem)

Across the world, we HATE war, but LOVE sin!

Yet we refuse to learn why wars upend!

Between those two, Heaven draws a straight line.

Yet its ‘dot-connecting Word’, we malign.

We seek higher education levels,

To achieve career success and laurels. 

Yet choose to not learn what really matters—

Those things on which our Creator majors.

To Moses, He gave the first direct clues.

To Ezekiel, He echoed that news:

Famines, beast attacks, wars and pestilence,

His responses to our sin persistence. ¹

 

Yet in our ‘wisdom’, we found ways and means,

All His wisdom and insights to demean. 

We preferred scientific didactics,

Over our sins and lifestyle ascetics. ²

 

In response, we just learned more ways to sin,

And deemphasized moral discipline.  

Thus, the agony of His four judgments,

Mounts because we refuse to learn penance. 

 

When in your life, any of those show up,

Ask ‘What's overspilling in my sin cup?’ 

When you ask that, if your heart is sincere,

The Lord promises, from Him, you will hear. ³

 

Just be patient. Give Him time. Don’t relent.

When He does respond, be quick to repent.

Then in you life’s lesson book, make a note,

So you’ll remember that …sin anecdote.
