Part 2 examines the context and implications of opening the 6th seal on The Lord’s scroll, as Heaven’s possible, pre-written verdict against this 3rd age. Let’s proceed to consider some relevant factors, namely:
1. Genesis 6 ‘Age Verdict’ Sample
2. Age-ending Earthquakes
3. ‘Cover’ for the Next Resurrection/Rapture Event?
1. Genesis 6 ‘Age Verdict’ Sample
Genesis 6 summarizes Heaven’s review of, and verdict against the 1st age of our history. The Lord gave that summary to Moses early in the 2nd age, a few centuries after the global flood. It is a biting verdict that substantiates Heaven’s decision to send a global flood to kill ALL BUT 8 humans, and re-start the human population through Noah’s family. Today, we are the population that family sired.
Because He is eternal, and knows the future, only Jesus, The Lord God Almighty, is equipped to pre-write His age-ending verdicts against humanity. Given our increasing proclivity to deeper sinfulness, The Lord inspired many prophets during the 2nd age, to perceive and document His predictions about how subsequent ages would end. The challenge to understand these prediction lies in:
…perceiving and categorizing them, per age,
…correlating them with fast-pacing global developments across our history;
…understanding and perceiving tactics of untoward spiritual agents, as revealed in The Bible and in history; and
…situating the above within Heaven’s revealed ‘end-game’ for every human who will have ever lived, possibly including those who die in vitro and at birth.
In Age-ending Stock-taking (Series), I integrate my understanding of the above points into 5 posts that somewhat align with the key points in Genesis 6. Those posts generally outline conditions I intuit might present at the ends of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th ages of our history. Based on Biblical insights, I also included a plausible ‘historical scenario’ for the end of the 2nd age—the post-flood/pre-cross age.
Let’s examine some other factors related to whether impacts of opening the 6th seal might be the global judgments that will end this current age, as the global flood, pronounced in Genesis 6, ended the 1st age. If my intuitions are correct, the impacts of opening that seal might be much more than just Heaven’s verdict against this age!
2. Age-ending, Resurrection Earthquakes
In Bible Raptures – Types and Timings (Series), I explain what might be The Lord’s strategy to harvest/reap from the Earth, all of His proven saints at the ends of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th ages of human history. In Part 2 of that series, and also in the Salvation in the Millennium (Series), I explain why I intuit there might be no such event at the end of the 5th age—the Millennial Reign age.
It is worth noting that those first two historical rapture-type and rapture events, and the last three predicted events were/will be preceded by earthquakes of varying scopes and intensities. Earthquakes are apparently a significant aspect of Heaven’s ‘age-ending saints extraction strategy’.
At first glance, this connection may seem unusual; yet when examined across Scripture, earthquakes repeatedly appear at precisely those moments when Heaven intervenes to extract, resurrect, or transition The Lord’s saints between ages.
1st Age Saint: Per Genesis 6:9 and 7:11, Noah was reportedly the only saint alive at the end of the 1st age! Imagine that… Accompanied by his family (whom The Lord never deemed as ‘righteous’), he was ‘caught up’ in the ark, high above the mountains, after a violent, global quake broke up ‘all the fountains of the great deep’. This was not Noah’s physical rapture into Heaven; nor did it involve a resurrection of all 1st age saints. Genesis 6 does not use the word, earthquake, but it most certainly was one! That major rupture of Earth’s mantle released vast amounts water and molten lava, that combined with massive rains, to flood and likely restructure the entire Earth. The Lord triggered a planetary cataclysm that literally ripped open the heart of Earth’s plumbing!
2nd Age Saints: Matthew 27:51 records an earthquake when Jesus died on the cross. Subsequently, Matthew 28:2 records a great earthquake that rolled away the stone from His tomb when He was resurrected. In Matthew 27:53, he ‘flashes-forward’ to what he would subsequently explain in Matthew 28:2! That’s a set-up for possible misinterpretation or the sequence of those events. That second quake reportedly reached as far as the Dead Sea basin, and into Turkey. 1
As David, by The Holy Spirit, predicted in Psalm 68:18; as Paul, by The Holy Spirit, confirmed in Ephesians 4:8; and as Matthew, by the Holy Spirit, hinted in Matthew 27:52-53, all deceased saints from across the first two ages of our history were resurrected with Christ, most likely as that second quake shook the region. And since they were resurrected, they must have been eventually raptured into Heaven, possibly during one or both of the two post-resurrection windows before or sometime after His John 20:17 ascension. 2 The Bible does not include any reference to a rapture of alive saints at the end of the 2nd age. I intuit they were needed to help spread The Gospel, and to live lifestyles and overcome persecutions that testified of Christ.
It is safe to correlate the great earthquake noted in Matthew 28:2, with the great earthquake mentioned in Revelation 6:12—as two global events that Heaven very likely used/will use to facilitate the resurrection of all 1st and 2nd ages saints, and all 3rd age saints! It also is a set-up for understanding the even greater earthquake noted in Revelation 16:18—the one that will facilitate the resurrection of all 4th age saints! These are significant insights worth sharing.
4th Age Saints: Per Revelation 16:18, the 4th age—the tribulation age, will also end with a global earthquake, the most violent quake since the one that co-triggered the global flood. This will be another Earth-reshaping quake. It is insightful to compare and contrast the references to islands and mountains in Revelation 6:14, 16:20, and Ezekiel 38:19-20. Zechariah 14:10 mentions the altitude of Jerusalem will become higher than it is currently, and the surrounding land will become a plain.
6th Age Saints: As if ‘confirmed in the mouths of 2 or 3 witnesses’, a trio of Scripture passages (2 Peter 3:10-13, Revelation 20:11 and 21:1) bespeak the pending, total destruction of this current version of Earth, in favor of a massive, new, eternal version in part of the universe with no suns or moons! Guess what?? At some level, molecular or otherwise, a total destruction of a planet must start with, or include A QUAKE!!! So don’t tell me, ‘Oh, that’s not a quake, per se!’ Ha-ha! Just prior to that ‘mother of all quakes’, the world will be populated with alive, 6th age—post-Millennial Reign age, saints and sinners. Moreover, Revelation 20: 12-15 affirm, before this Earth is destroyed, every sinner who will have ever died across the 6 ages of humanity, will be bodily resurrected. The Bible predicts their immortal spirit and soul ‘twins’ will be raised from their torment in hell’s flames, to reunite with their resurrected physical bodies, made immortal. Along with every alive saint and sinner, they all will be raptured to stand before The Lord for His Great White Throne Judgment event. This is when The Lord promises, figuratively, to ‘separate the sheep from the goats’ in the only JOINT saints/sinner resurrection/rapture event.
This review EXCLUDES the resurrection and rapture of deceased and alive 3rd age saints. Yet Revelation 6:12-17 clearly predicts the most significant QUAKE since the global flood! It will be the first impact when The Lord opens the 6th seal on His scroll. Since He is ‘The Lord Who does not change, I intuit it would be a MAJOR ERROR for anyone to suppose He would change His iterative, ‘age-ending quake strategic pattern’. Ergo, it is definitely worth imagining how (not whether) the 6th seal on His scroll might signify the closing of this current 3rd age of our history, with the resurrection and rapture event that Paul mentions in Thessalonians 4:13-18.
Stay tuned for Part 3
‘Cover’ for the Next Resurrection/Rapture Event?

1 Some researchers and available records demonstrate this was not just a local event in and around Jerusalem, but a great, regional earthquake, with the epicenter likely in the Dead Sea Transform Fault. Available records report an earthquake, circa 33 AD, that caused damages in cities in Turkey, well over 1,000 miles away from Jerusalem.
