For our world, and the ‘shortening arc of history’? ¹

 

TODAY, May 14, 2025, is the 77th anniversary of the day

The Lord fulfilled what He predicted in Ezekiel 37!

He kept His Word!!!

With 80%+ of Biblical prophecies ‘in our rear view mirror’, answering the above question should be much easier than it was, say …a century ago! In Repetitive Patterns and Shocking Reversals (Part 1), I recommended doing your own cursory, AI-enabled, comparative review of the first quarters of the 20th and 21st centuries, to perceive any insightful patterns and/or stark distinctions of interest.

 

At this spiritually-significant transition point, most perceptive minds might focus on the so-called 70th week of Daniel’s vision ² My focus broadens to the convergence of two prophetic mid-points in history:

 

1. The mid-point in Ezekiel’s prophetic quadfecta—chapters 36-to-39, and

2. The mid-point of the predicted number of ages on Earth’s current version. 

 

1. Ezekiel’s Prophetic Quadfecta Mid-Point

 

The Book of Ezekiel is the 3rd of 4 major prophetic books in the Old Testament. The first 2 books (Isaiah and Jeremiah) were, respectively, written during the long run-up to, and the final implementation of The Lord’s predicted Babylonian invasion of Judah—His judgment on Judeans’ persistent, gross sinfulness. The last 2 books (Ezekiel and Daniel) were written during the 70-year captivity of a large Judean remnant in Babylon. Collectively, these 4 books outline major ‘near and distant’ predictions for both Israel, and the world. These predictions are supplemented in the remaining, so-called minor prophetic books of the Old Testament.

 

As noted in Missed Insights in Ezekiel (Series), Ezekiel 36-to-39 predicted the following significant points in Jewish history:

 

A. Chapter 36: The initial focus is on the exodus of captive Judeans, from Babylon, back to Palestine (the unstated, apparent strategic objective of which was to re-establish Jewish life there, in preparation for the birth of Jesus). This exodus became historical circa 538 BC, the last few centuries of the 2nd age. The remainder of this chapter focuses on the AD ages — the 3rd (still unfolding), 4th and 5th ages of history. 

 

B. Chapter 37: The exodus of exiled Jews, mostly from across Europe at the end of World War II, triggering the (1) creation of the modern state of Israel (rejoining previously separated Israel and Judah); and (2) establishment of ‘an exceedingly great army’—today’s Israel Defense Force (IDF). These predictions became historical on May 14, and May 26, 1948, respectively.

 

C. Chapter 38: The (pending) invasion of an exceedingly over-crowded, un-protected (no IDF) people, by a coalition army led by a nation ‘in the far north’ of Israel (today’s Russia), with no help from her allies. D. Chapter 39: Managing the horrendous after-effects of that invasion during the early months and years of The Millennial Reign age—the 5 age of history.

 

Astute minds will recognize this prophetic quadfecta covers FOUR ages of history—the 2nd-to the-5th ages. Since Israel’s birthday, the world has been balanced (teetering?) on a fulcrum at the mid-point of these 4, pivotal prophecies.

2. Current Earth-ages Mid-point

The Bible outlines what I regard as 7 ages of human history, the first 6 of which are on this current version of Earth, and the 7th, eternal age will be on a promised, new, eternal Earth. ³ According to every prophetic precursor I know, history is very close to the end of this current, 3rd age of history—the church age. Ergo, we are either rapidly approaching, or effectively at the mid-point of the predicted number of ages of history on this current version of Earth. Take no solace in this point. Here’s why.

 

The Bible indicates the cumulative number of years of the next 3 ages,

will be less than the cumulative number of years of our first 3 ages! ¹

Three nearly down, three more to go!!

3. Conclusion

 

No one knows for sure what Israel turning 77 years old at these 2 pivotal mid-points in history, might signify for global events in the near-term. Based on my strategic analysis of The Bible over the past 2 decades, this is what I perceive:

 

A. The number, 7, is strategically significant from The Lord’s perspective. Ergo, we should heighten our perceptivity to however He may move in the near-to-medium term. This is only achieved through constant prayer and meditation. Here’s my tip on how we can achieve His requirement to stay in constant prayer. 

 

B. The post-WWII world order the U.S. catalyzed in 1945, will be 80 years old this year. This order featured establishment of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD - World Bank in 1944), the United Nations (1945), and the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs (GATT, in 1947). We have been witnessing increasing criticisms and the weakening of these institutions, plus louder calls for a ‘new world order’. The Lord may indeed respond to these calls, but not in the way folks expect! Let me know if you are aware of any Biblical predictions or preconditions to the pending 3rd-to-4th age transition that have not been on the global scene for many years. I know of none.

 

C. The Bible is The Lord’s inspired and preserved book for us, and might be a ‘human edition’ of His exhaustive, pre-written, ‘human history novel’, The Scripture of Truth book in Heaven. While that book is not available to us, its truths are steadily being released to us ‘at the speed of time’. Thus, the combination of Biblical and secular history, is our best key to intuit and expect the following:

 

(1) More of His declared, well-established, and persistently-demonstrated, strategic patterns in human affairs, and

 

(2) More of His shocking, reversal interruptions, tailored to get our attention and response to what concerns Him, especially when we downplay, and render His judgments ….ineffectual.

Have you ever pondered what might have happened

between the first two verses of Genesis 1?

 

Does reading Genesis 1 spark your curiosity about a seeming gap between the first two verses? Honestly, it’s quite a stretch for me to imagine The Lord creating anything in an imperfect form. I am not alone in wondering what may have happened between those first two verses. For sure, one day, we will understand it all in the so-called ‘by and by’. 

 

I recently wrote a short story, Eden Revisited, that answers the call of my imagination on this question. It reflects how I understand what many call ‘The Gap Theory’. By the way, in Romans 5:12, Paul wrote, 

 

Therefore, just as through one man [Adam],

sin entered the world, and death through sin, 

and thus death spread to all men [all people],

because all sinned.

 

There is an apparent missed insight among believers who point to this verse, and assert Adam’s sin ushered death into the world, i.e., in the Earth. They seem to omit two Bible facts that dispute their assertion:

 

     1. Eve sinned before Adam, and

     2. satan (ex-Lucifer) was in the garden, in the land of Eden,

         before Eve sinned.

Repetitive Patterns and Shocking Reversals (Part 1)

Does it seem to you that some key parts of history are increasingly ‘repeating themselves’?

 

Are you perceiving any plausible correlations between the state of the world, and the challenges it faced during the first quarters of the 20th and 21st centuries??

 

Or does it seem like the whole world is turning upside-down and inside-out, with a blaring series of shocking reversals???

Governments, ideologies, and movements, once hailed as defenders of grace, truth, and justice, are now reversing course—sometimes violently so. The pressures of post-pandemic lifestyles are pushing more populations to hope for, and to demand strongman governments, even if they may not be democracies, as were once cherished. In their struggles to earn profits, corporations and companies are increasingly favoring AI agents, over competent, loyal employees, including at higher levels of their operations. Many economies across the world have yet to rebound from the severe stresses of the Covid pandemic. Some nations’ post-pandemic health care systems are cutting significant corners in order to deal with increasing funding shortages in the face of mounting patient demands. Global armaments production is spiking like crazy, in response to increasing numbers of post-pandemic conflicts and wars. ¹

 

When globally comparing the first quarters of the 20th and 21st centuries, consider these categories:

 

1. Political instabilities, 

2. Stock markets booms and busts/crashes,

3. Economic recessions, depressions, and global trade patterns,

4. Wars and armaments production, 

5. Pandemics and wide-spread epidemics, 

6. The rise of fascism, communism, and preferences for strongman governments

7. Broad social unrest, racial discriminations, and global migration patterns

 

My objective is not to do a ‘then’ and ‘now’ review of any specific issues between these two periods. Rather, it is to raise the prospect of both some repetitive patterns, as well as some shocking reversals between these two time periods. If interested, task your favorite AI app to summarize comparisons of these categories between the first quarters of the 20th and 21st centuries.

 

Typically, we tend to label perceived repetitive patterns as ‘history just repeating itself’. It’s a common expression with which many of us have likely become comfortable. Thus, we may pay little attention when we see or hear about such patterns. But we very likely have a totally different reactions to glaring shocking reversals! They tend to shock us out of our ‘comfortable expectations zones!’

 

As a strategic student of The Bible since 2005, I have learned to regard repetitive patterns, not as ‘history just repeating itself’, but as humans falling for the same old devilish deceptions and temptations that our ancestors blindly or willingly fell for. That’s the result of our collective spiritual ignorance, our imperceptivity to untoward spiritual forces, and our strong proclivity to sinfulness. Now, I am learning to regard glaring shocking reversals as significant, strategic, spiritual shifts across a community, region, nation, or the whole world—shifts that also have, at their roots, unperceived spiritual agents, but this time, both holy and un-. ² 

 

Devils and demons are ‘good at their game’. Since Adam, they have studied and learned humans exceptionally well. They have well developed their ‘satanic statecraft’, expertly leveraging our disbelief about, and ignorance of them, to their FULL advantage, age, after age of human history. Moreover, since The Bible has been completed, well preserved, and broadly dispersed across the whole world, they KNOW increasing numbers of us are becoming spiritually alive and alert to both their, and especially The Lord’s, strategic objectives, long-term strategies, and tactics. As a result, they, no doubt, realized the need to ‘step up their game’ significantly, since the 1st century AD—the start of this current 3rd age of our history. Since then, I believe the increased frequencies and intensities of so-called ‘history repeating itself’, might well be the results of satan’s crew doing exactly that—'stepping up their game!’ I also perceive it wasn’t merely a one-time thing! 

Here’s why…

¹ Imagine this…If, as I perceive, we may be close to the next, predicted historical age-transition (from this 3rd-to the-4th age of history), then the armaments being produced today, might realistically be those that will be involved in either or both:

    o the 1st War of Gog and Magog (See: First Ukraine, then Israel’s Terrain? and Ezekiel 38), and

    o the Armageddon War at the end of the short ~7-year, 4th age—the tribulation age! 

² The Bible has countless examples in which Heaven strategically planned and executed shocking reversals in human affairs in order to achieve its strategic plans. Think… the exodus, the fall of Jericho, the Assyrian and Babylonian invasions and capture of Israel and Judah, the timely release of Judeans from Babylonian captivity, the resurrection of Jesus exactly as He had predicted, the failed attempt to boil Apostle John alive in oil, etc. Future shocking reversals include the 1st War of Gog and Magog, the Armageddon War, the Millennial Reign and post-Millennial Reign ages, and the resurrection of the twin spirit and soul every dead unrepentant sinner, as fully tripartite and sentient immortal beings (spirit, soul and body), from hell’s temporary fires, to be judged, and then cast into the much worse, (bigger, hotter, more crowded??) permanent fires of eternal lake of fire, possibly somewhere (the entire southern hemisphere??) on the new, eternal Earth! Selah…

Of all the beings and things He created, The Lord has an exceptional affinity, yes LOVE for mankind. Whether we’re a repented, saved saint, or an un-repentant sinner, He has prepared for ALL of us an un-imaginable, eternal life with Him on a totally new version of Earth! Note, I didn’t say ‘the same, un-imaginable lives’, because they will be uniquely different, based on our life styles and choices in this life.

In His love for us, He sends to us diverse, iterative warnings when we ‘miss His best mark’ for us. Such warnings come in various forms and intensities throughout our lives. His most persistent warning is His Holy Bible that He inspired and preserved for us to begin our personal journey to:

     (a) perceive Him more precisely,

     (b) believe Him more passionately, and

     (c) obey Him more persistently. 

Other warnings come from people, and in chastisements and judgments that always show-up, often at the wrong times in our busy lives.

A rather unique type of warning The Lord sends is in the form of various examples—glimpse and foretastes of what lies ahead for us if/when we refuse His loving warnings, and persistently ‘miss His mark’. These unique example warnings may be an odd chance meeting a person, unusually relevant lessons from a group of people, a song, an attention-grabbing news article, or even a dream or premonition. If we are attentive and perceptive to His Spirit, we might intuit His examples. But only if/when we act on what we perceive, will we escape what His examples forewarn. Yet all too often, we are not attentive, and fail to perceive His Spirit, and thus disregard His examples carefully tailored, and sent to us. A clear example of this is what I call ‘a parade of false Christs or Messiahs.'

The notion of false Messiahs and false prophets has been prevalent throughout history. Typically, these were false prophets or rebels who advocated for the relief, redemption and restoration of ancient Israel and Judah, from various types and levels of political oppression. Before His crucifixion, Jesus warned of future false-Christs/Messiahs and prophets who would claim to be Him, including some who would ‘…show great signs and wonders [miracles] to deceive’. (Matthew 24:11) Later in the 1st century AD, Apostle John warned that anyone who denies that Jesus, The Lord God and Jewish Messiah, came in the flesh, is an anti-Christ. (1 John 4:3) 

Contextually, these refer to two distinct groups. John spoke of all post-resurrection, Jesus deniers, including those today. Jesus, however, spoke of the group of false Christs and Messiahs who will proclaim to be (i.e., mimic) Him. These distinction could not be more clear and stark! Yet, in Christianity, these two terms, false Messiah (mimicker) and anti-Christ (Christ’s birth denier), may have been conflated to some extent. Today, the term, the anti-Christ, is mostly, if not exclusively used to signify the man (singular) about whom Apostle Paul wrote in Thessalonians, and Apostle John refers to in Revelation, as ‘the beast’. 

How did we get here??

To complicate matters, for over 2,000 years, some people have rushed to slap the anti-Christ label on many men whom they deemed to be overly threatening, charismatic, lawless, or simply opposed to their worldviews. Onto Roman emperors and medieval popes, Napoleon,­ Hitler, and now, in our time, Donald Trump, this label has been slapped.

What if both Christianity, and people who have misapplied the anti-Christ label, have missed something even deeper than the above distinctions??
