Good Works Delusions (Poem)

There’s a strange paradox I perceive,

On both sides of the ‘Christian divide’, 

Folks Christian and Christianesque alike,

About good deeds, and what they believe.

What The Bible says, they over-ride,

And think, with The Lord, a deal they’ll strike!

 

I perceive some Christians may agree,

‘Good deeds salvation’ just isn’t their thing,

But something for other religions.

They ‘signed up’ for salvation that’s free!

So the ‘good deeds thing’, they’re not buying!!

About this, they’ve got strong convictions. 

The Christianesque folks, on the other hand,

Practice good deeds of various kinds.

They may think, on such, Heaven’s looking,

And from entering there, they won’t be banned,

Because ‘when it’s time’, their good deeds will shine.

On such beliefs, they might be booking!

 

Across the world, imagine impacts,

When such beliefs are lived, then dispensed,

To others who’ll also believe such—

More people ignoring ‘Bible facts’,

That reveal to us the right sequence. 

Folks in both groups are in satan’s clutch!

 

The Lord’s view, these folks don’t understand:

◊ Good deeds without salvation, is dead! ¹

◊ It’s relationship with Him as Christ,

That draws us to do deeds He’s pre-planned!! ²

If such beliefs these folks never shed,

They will be shocked in their after-life!!! ³

 

Christian good deeds are post-salvation—

The foundation on which they’ll be done,

As, by The Holy Spirit, we’re led.

He’ll use them in two dispensations:

On this current Earth:

◊ To build The Kingdom of God & Son. 

On the eternal New Earth:

◊ To adorn The Son’s bride whom He’ll ‘wed’.

 

Bona fide Christians…

If you may know folks who’re in these 2 groups,

Please find the courage to share this with them.

Imagine impacts your sharing may spark,

On that one person satan’s crew now dupes! 

One day in your crown, this may be a gem. ⁴

But if you don’t share, …they’ll stay in the dark…

 

If necessary, please ask The Lord,

If sharing this might be a good deed,

He may have pre-planned for you to do!

Make sure with Him, you are in accord.

In life, don’t look for fruit from this ‘seed’.

In faith, TRUST how His Spirit leads you. 

 

Christianesque readers…

If to read this poem, you have been led,

You are on The Holy Spirit’s Mind:

◊ To correct errant good deeds thinking,

◊ To free you from good deeds that are dead,

◊ Then lead you to Christ to be aligned. 

With His good deeds plan, you’ll be syncing.
