America’s so-called forefathers who drafted the Constitution, ‘foresaw’ an authoritative executive who would run roughshod over the Constitution, and trash core values enshrined therein. Remember Ben Franklin’s quote, ‘A republic, IF you can keep it’. That was in response to the question, ‘What kind of government was created at the Constitutional Convention?’ The person/people who asked that question is/are long gone. We today have become the ‘you’ who apparently couldn’t keep it. Because we returned to the executive, someone who promised to fulfill just about everything those forefathers foresaw, we now see what they foresaw.
Now I am foreseeing how, what the forefathers foresaw, was a predicted progression from long ago—one that was well-rehearsed by our ‘predecessor leading nations’ across history. But rather than learning from their heavily left, negatively skewed, rise-then-fall progressions, it seems America determined to outdo them ALL in the factors that hastened their sudden, colossal downfalls. It is as if we said,
Move over Babylon and Persia!
Get out of our thoughts, Greece and Rome!
And U.K., though you were the biggest hegemon of all,
WE will outdo you! JUST watch ‘U.S.’!
Thus, we became the most powerful hegemon, historically.
Now, under the weight of that role, we suffer, financially.
Straining with the effects of it, politically,
people suffer across our awfully skewed society, socio-economically!
Thus, our ‘time at the leading nation bat’—80 years, reluctantly,
may be among the shortest of them ALL.
The Lord said, then iteratively demonstrated in ALL the nations of the world,
I will NoT be mocked.
As a person and nation sows,
that shall he and it reap!
Perhaps we think that promise mystically doesn’t apply …to hegemons!! Rather, it applies much more to them. Here’s why…
At all levels of society, The Lord’s Hand is involved in the appointment of LEADERS, ranging from fathers in families, to leaders across all levels of government, including organized clusters of nations. Moreover, The Bible demonstrates that He reserves His most harsh assessment and judgments for leaders, as they are responsible for influencing lifestyles of those they lead, and are expected to serve. To facilitate the works of leaders, He gives Grace, with undisclosed expiration dates. Once His Grace expires, with no demonstrated, sustained repentance (i.e., a turn-around from evil), He removes, then judges errant leaders. His judgments may either be in this life, or in the afterlife, or both.
In light of the history of all past leading nations,
and Bible predictions that EVERY major power will end,
how does America want its hegemony to end??
Strange question? YES, from a human nature prospective! We humans are an insatiable, greedy, prideful species! Imagining the end of our hegemon status, is generally met with desires to beef up our bloated military and defense (War Department) budgets, and bully other nations even more! We are blind to perceive how that only weakens our leading nation status, and worsen the primary job of hegemonic government—to serve its citizens, socio-economically, and influence other nations, positively, and if/as The Lord directs, to become His instrument of their judgment. Those will be the basis of The Lord’s assessment, and subsequent rewards or judgments of our leaders—any leaders at any level.
America should initiate serious examination of its leading nation status, including the pros and cons, costs and benefits thereof, and how we might CHOOSE to SHAPE its eventual end, since END, IT WILL! If we are as smart as we think we are, we will proactively act to learn relevant lessons from the downfall of all prior leading nations, and hopefully, AVOID their pitfalls. See: The Decline and Fall of Global Hegemons, and the related study attachment.
Are we smart enough…?
