Have you ever pondered the role water plays in the most significant transitions in life? 

--Childbirth

--Baby dedications

--Adult baptisms

--Dead bodies washings

--Can you think of others?

 

What about the role of water in the start of so many other species of life on our planet whose ‘water breaks’ to signal birth? ¹

Consider water’s role in ending the pre-diluvian age, and beginning the post-diluvian age in which we live. The flood waters came from the breaking up of the fountains of the deep, and the windows/floodgates of the heavens. What waters, you wonder? Genesis reports how The Lord separated waters into those above and those below a firmament, then gathered the waters below the firmament into one place, and dry land appeared. ²

Literally all across the world, in every hemisphere, on every continent, all islands, every body of water, there is increasing evidence that Earth’s climate (weather patterns, temperatures and especially her water systems) is essentially out of sync. Unprecedented floods and extreme droughts are often occurring in the same places! We quite myopically label this as ‘climate change’, and conclude it is the result of too much carbon in the atmosphere. Focusing only on the scientific basis for climate change, with eyes wide shut, we are guaranteed to miss the higher, broader reasons for what we and the entire animal, insect and plant kingdoms are experiencing.

Water played pivotal roles in creation of Earth, and later in the flood that punished mankind’s gross sinfulness. He Who sent those waters has promised never again to flood the entire Earth. ³ However, He has promised to judge our persistent sinfulness in other ways, including with negative impacts on Earth’s water systems and the cascading/resulting impacts of famines, wars, pestilence and wild beast attacks. Water is the ‘pivotal plug’ in all of this. Pull that plug, and our entire ‘house of cards’ collapses.

The Lord God has clearly outlined for us how water will, once again, play a critical role in transitioning to our next historical age, yet most of us flat out ignore His promises, while stressing out about how to deal with climate change. Trying to get the entire world to reduce carbon emissions is like focusing on a gnat buzzing your sweaty face, while ignoring the most serious and impactful issues of our time, from Heaven’s perspective.

Just like many women reportedly experience temperature increases during pregnancy and just before labor, what if Earth has long been ‘pregnant’ with the next extended age The Lord has promised - His Millennial Reign, that will follow the short fourth age of human history - the tribulation?? What if her waters are about to break, giving birth to this new age? We are very experienced in failing to ‘connect-His-dots’, thus we fail to envision climate change is a mere symptom, not the cause of these most significant global environmental issues ….since the flood.

Collateral Damages or Blessings? (Poem)

Readers, by now, you might know of my ‘eye strategic.’

It’s from a career in international development,

That emphasized Goals, Purposes, Outputs, Inputs,

And anticipated End-of-Project/Program achievements.

Managing this kind of work accentuates tactics.

 

So when The Lord Jesus prompted me in retirement,

To apply my skills to re-reading His Holy Word,

I clearly understood His higher intention:

To unpack and parse therein what to me might be blurred,

And to perceive what, in our day, is most relevant.

 

As I progress in this rather unique assignment,

So many blurred points have become much clearer,

Aspects of His strategic and tactical approaches,

And repeating patterns that are much sharper!

In my understanding, I have grown more confident.

 

Yet there are some aspects of His strategic approaches,

About which I have deep longings to know so much more.

As I observe developments across our world today,

One in particular relates to His remnant corps,

Folks He allows to survive through His …judgment agendas!

 

From His heart of compassionate love for humanity,

Plus an undying desire for us to learn righteousness,

The Lord typically leaves a remnant in the wake of judgments, ¹

A mixed group of folks who’re righteous and ignominious. ²

Hey! Does that mean the righteous are damaged …collaterally?? ³

 

This point has long boggled my mind, and I would bet yours, too!

That righteous folks get wracked in The Lord’s judgment tragedies,

Right along with the worst sinners in the bunch,

On the surface, might seem to us like ...justice travesties!

So I thought; that’s until …deeper in His wisdom I grew.

 

Apostle Paul wrote: 

‘Oh, the deep riches of wisdom and knowledge of God,

Whose judgments are un-searchable; His ways past finding out.’ ⁴

Yet, he later affirmed, ‘But we (righteous) have The Mind of Christ.’

Hey Paul, is that a contradiction? What’s that all about?

‘No, J! Just like you, in wisdom I grew. It’s not flawed.’ ⁵

So why this curious strategic or tactical pattern??

I am sure there are reasons we can never fathom,

But here are two insights I will share with you:

1. The Lord is our help, even across judgments’ chasms!!

Tip: Build-up strong faith in this promise,

well before judgments happen!

 

2. The Lord has clear lessons in the un-righteous remnant to stir.

One might be exceptionally strong demonstration-effects,

That can only be learned by witnessing His blessings,

That accrue upon righteous folks who, through judgments,

are not vexed!!!

Their righteous salt preserves them, and testifies to on-lookers.

 

Imagine how those points played out in these mixed remnant groups:

--Of eight souls in the flood, only one was declared righteous – Noah.

--In the wilderness sojourn, only a few were righteous – Moses, Joshua, Caleb.

--In captivity, righteous Judaens were protected; Daniel/Esther rose to prominence. ⁶

--As David fled from Saul & Absalom, folks were chastened by his righteousness.

--In The Millennial Reign, the worst-ever sinners will be ruled by resurrected saints slain by the anti-Christ government in the tribulation age. ⁷

 

When you see the righteous apparently caught in judgments’ nets,

STOP …and ponder the message in this poem.

Train your 'inner eyes' to look well beyond what they may see.

If they see some righteous folks as victims,

Look l-o-n-g and closely to perceive their …distinguishing effects.

 

Yes, Friends, The Lord knows how to protect and preserve His saints,

In and through any broad judgments aimed at those who are not.

What may appear to be saints, as collateral damages,

May well be Him loosening them from their binding knots,

To demonstrate righteous trust to folks who, stressed-out,

…will faint.

 

What an AWESOME God and Lord we serve!!!

The Me You See (Poem)

 

The body you see when you look at me, 

Isn’t the one I’ll live in eternally.

Rather, it is just a draft, a mere prototype,

Of one that’s permanent, maybe a look alike.

 

I consider it as God’s down payment.

You might say it’s a seed type element,

That in Earth’s rich soils will one day be planted,

To be raised in a form that is ...AUGMENTED!!!

 

My body to which my spirit is assigned,

And my soul, which to my spirit is aligned,

Are declared to be the forever parts of me.

They are the eternal parts of …my TRINITY. ¹

 

You see, The Lord God loves His ‘seed, time and harvest’ principle,

The foundation on which He established our world, physical,

Where nothing happens without 'seed types' that, in time, ‘germinate’. ²

That’s a key point on which we all should take time to meditate.

 

Consider all the types of seeds that developed your life,

The seeds planted and cultivated until ‘fruits’ were ripe,

Seeds that were both physical as well as conceptual.

They bore ‘fruits’, some temporary, others perpetual. ³

 

Now ponder: Why would The Lord put two things …eternal,

Into one piece of ‘fruit’ that is only …temporal??

He gave us no scientific proof whatsoever, 

Just His Word, and a keen desire to live forever. ⁴

 

He affirms in His own image we are made,

But from His righteous nature, we all have strayed.

In our straying, we stopped believing what He’s saying,

Thus, upon us all, devilish forces are preying.

 

His image comprises Spirit-Soul-Body, all immortal.

So why did He give us a body that is ephemeral? ⁵

Herein lies the mystery few may realize:

Adam and Eve were created …never to die! 

 

Into the whole world, their sin ushered death,

Ensuring, one day, the loss of life’s breath.

But since on breath our spirit and soul are not dependent,

Then with the loss of breath, they may sleep, yet remain …extant! ⁶

 

Moreover, The Lord foreknew all mankind would sin,

And to redeem us, He would come in ‘human skin’,

To pay our redemption price that was unpayable,

And thus, one day He’d become just like us, a mortal.

 

Two parts eternal, in one part temporal, integrally.

That’s The Lord’s design of my ‘triune God-complex-ity’.

You only see me as the part that is corporeal,

Not knowing my inward parts are the me that’s …more real!

Ponder This... (Wild Beast Attacks)

‘If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they empty it,

and make it so desolate that no man may pass through

because of the beasts, even though these three men were in it,

as I live,’ says The Lord God,

‘‘they would deliver neither sons nor daughters;

only they would be delivered, and the land would be desolate.’

(Ezekiel 14:15-16)

 

 

To the prophet Jeremiah, The Lord God (Jesus Christ) revealed His on-going three-point strategy in dealing with humans: Loving-kindness/Grace, Judgment (Justice), leading to Righteousness. ¹

 

To the prophets Moses and Ezekiel, He revealed four tactics to implement the Judgment aspect of His strategy. I refer to these as His four henchmen, applied to any land that (people who) practiced persistent (gross?) unfaithfulness (sinfulness): warfare, pestilence, famine and wild beasts. ²

 

In modern times, societies have largely succeeded in managing the segregation of human populations from wild animals. Ergo, it seemed The Lord’s fourth judgment tactic might have possibly been attenuated. That is until…

major, sustained climate change!!!

 

Under the dramatically increased weight of mankind’s sinfulness, many of Earth’s normal systems appear to be significantly …out of whack! To an increasing extent, this is threatening the erstwhile successful segregation of our societies from wild animals. ³

 

I have learned to not discount any of The Lord’s prophecies that, to our eyes, appear irrelevant in these modern times.

Ponder This... (Water As We Age)

‘Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the Earth beneath.
For the heavens will vanish away like smoke,

the Earth will grow old like a garment,
and those who dwell in it will die in like manner;
but My salvation will be forever;

and My righteousness will not be abolished.’

(Isaiah 51:6) 

Reflect for a moment… 

What happens in our bodies as we age,

with specific regard to water?

 

Water is often regarded as the essence of life. I believe a person’s spirit and soul are the essence of life, simply because they are eternal. A person’s physical body is temporal. ¹

 

Typically, as we age, the normal balance between our water intake and outtake is significantly disturbed. Our thirst sensation weakens, triggering dehydration. The muscles of the urinary system weaken, triggering uncontrolled flows (outtake). Dehydration dries the skin, which may sag due to significant loss of water weight. ²

 

Now consider the extent to which our bodies, created from dust/dirt, are akin to …a microcosm of Earth! ³

 

In the 8^th century BC/BCE, The Lord God (Jesus Christ) revealed to Isaiah, a Jewish prophet, ‘…Earth will grow old like a garment…’ ⁴ Look around and you will clearly see a MAJOR aspect of this prophecy becoming history. Earth is manifesting a serious imbalance in its water system.

 

Though scientists have long believed the amount of water on Earth is finite, many now believe this is incorrect, and that, as the planet heats up, more water is being evaporated into space. The imbalance is manifesting itself in unprecedented, extreme droughts in some areas, and extreme floods in other areas, as if the planet's whole water system is out of sync.

 

The close correlations between Earth growing old and a human body growing old are undeniable. Yet so many people on the Earth flat out deny any correlations between The Lord’s prophecies and our history.

Q: What’s your take on the theme of music?

 

A: My, my, what an unusual question. Since you know my keen interest in spiritual matters, don’t be surprised by my answer as a musician who composes and produces ‘Christian jazz’ music. 

 

Music is one of the most powerful mediums of communication, and moreover, it is a universal language of sorts. Understanding and deriving meanings from it, however, is deeply personal. What and how a musical selection ‘communicates’ to us varies from person-to-person. Ergo, any meanings and inspirations we derive from it are intimately determined. They may also vary based on our feelings and moods, which themselves are ever shifting. 

 

There are (at least) two definitions of musical theme: ¹

 

1. In a strictly technical or theoretical sense, a musical theme is the main melody, a short, simple sequence of tunes repeated, often with variations, throughout a musical composition, thus comprising its ‘foundation’. In my songs, the themes are typically what I regard as the chorus, the base melody I return to between verses that deviate from this theme. My themes also often vary the lead instrument for a slightly different sound and feel.

 

2. In a broader sense, a musical theme is the thematic concept, e.g., a feeling or mood, the music intends to signify. All musical compositions convey a thematic concept(s), whether the music is instrumental or lyrical. The thematic concept(s) of instrumental music is conveyed in its rhythm, chord progressions, volume, instrumentation, melodic variations, etc. The thematic concept of lyrical music is conveyed in these aspects, plus the song’s title, lyrics, and vocalization style(s).

 

The Bible reveals music was created in Heaven, not on Earth, as a means to praise, worship and honor Father God and Jesus, The Lord God. Thus, it is quintessentially spiritual in nature, created for a most holy purpose. Ezekiel 28:12-15 help us to conceive a bit of this.

 

During His upbraiding of an ancient, wicked king of Tyre, through the prophet, Ezekiel, The Lord briefly segues to addressing the spirit of satan who is possessing and motivating this king. He describes Lucifer, a top-ranked angel whom The Lord created with some internal musical instruments to perform and perhaps lead high-level praise and worship functions in Heaven. Imagine that! Lucifer’s gross pride led him to convince a third of all angels to join him in a revolutionary attempt (coup d’etat) to de-throne and replace Jesus as The Lord God. I understand this to be the first ever sin that was committed, signifying pride is likely the taproot of all sin. As a result, Lucifer became satan, and was cast out of Heaven along with his angelic cohorts, who became devils and demons. They fell to Earth, and later witnessed the creation of humans. They have been wreaking havoc ever since, pending The Lord’s promised final, eternal judgment, namely being cast into the eternal lake of fire on the predicted, eternal Earth, along with every human who will have rejected The Lord's offer of eternal salvation by Grace. Their clear objective is to use any means possible to ensure they will have the company of as many humans as possible to share their promised, eternal judgment. And sadly, they have been on a very l-o-n-g …winning streak!

 

Get this… I have found no Bible reference that satan ever lost his internal musical functionalities and proclivities. Hence, it may be safe to presume these remain intact. The spiritual nature of music renders it a perfect carrier or conveyor of spiritual unctions to prioritize, worship and honor something or someone. Since satan and his cohorts have been thoroughly and irredeemably corrupted by their gross sin, it is also safe to presume they promote the use of music in any and every way possible that contradicts its original, holy purpose, i.e., to praise, worship and honor Father God and Jesus, The Lord God, Whom devils and demons hate with passion. Thus, music has historically been a primary means they use to corrupt and entice us to join them in all and anything Heaven considers as sinful and unholy. This is a key tactic in their strategy to ensure as many of us as possible will share in their pronounced, pending, eternal  judgment. ²

 

Across our sin-stained world, carnal music is devils’ choice means or mediums to entice people into deeper and deeper sinfulness. They accomplish this using both types of musical themes described above, in ways that ensure people …‘get and act upon their subtle and increasingly not-so-subtle messages’, without awareness of, or suspecting the spiritual sources and roots thereof. People who are spiritually unaware of what’s really going on (i.e., who are ignorant of such, or what Apostle Paul calls spiritually dead) are like low hanging fruits for these untoward spirits. ³

 

Bottom line: When it comes to music and musical themes, caveat!!!! (beware, in Latin)

Blind Faith in Trumpism? (Q&A)

Q: You say, ‘Faith is not based on what is seen, but on what is believed …without, and in spite of physical evidence. (Hebrews 11:1)’ Folks who believe in Trump’s ideology (Trumpism), cultural and racial supremacy, etc. have faith that they are righteous, despite evidence of his and their terrible misdeeds committed openly, in plain sight. So could [blind] FAITH be where the real issues lie? 

 

A: Thanks for your very pertinent question. I will do my best to answer it from a Biblical perspective.

 

I do not believe faith, per se, is on trial in this situation. Rather, it is the object of folks’ faith that should be, and is on trial. Throughout The Bible, The Lord admonishes us to live by faith in Him, His Word promises, His nature and character, more than anything or anyone else. Similarly, throughout The Bible and world history, only a precious few folks have demonstrated the ability, commitment and courage to do exactly this, and they generally paid high prices of various kinds for their faithfulness. The majority, however, rebelled against The Lord’s command, and many simply demonstrated errant understandings of what He requires. Though He held societal leaders (kings, priests and prophets) accountable for their errant teachings and role-modeling, when The Lord’s Grace expired (as it always does without repentance), most folks were caught in the grip of His judgments, and at times, and even righteous folks suffered collateral effects of their nations, and especially their leaders, being judged, (See Jeremiah 29 for a letter The Lord inspired Jeremiah to write to Judean captives in Babylon. Daniel and friends became slaves in Babylon, yet they were favored and protected; Daniel was promoted to high positions in kings courts in Babylon and Persia, and Esther became the Queen of Persia after it conquered Babylon. Some within the so-called American ‘religious/political far right’ seem to believe (have faith) they are called to turn the tide of what they account as sinfulness across America by political or even violent means, and a few have proposed adoption of ‘Christian nationalism’, a quasi-theocratic approach to national governance. This they do with a blind eye or myopia on their own sinfulness. The concept of Christian nationalism in modern times clearly goes against what Christ called His believers to do and to be. In history, He only established one nation as a theocracy, ancient Israel, which later split into 2 nations (Israel and Judah). They failed in meeting their call, so He destroyed those nations via military invasions, and scattered a remnant of the peoples across the world, just as He had promised through Moses in Deuteronomy 32. [FYI, The Lord promises to regather Jews from across the world back to the promised land, and then to establish His own global theocratic kingdom, The Millennial Reign of Christ with His resurrected saints from across the ages of time. At that time, the whole world will be a theocracy!! Imagine that. For more on this, search this blog for that topic.]

 

Jeremiah 9:23-24 and Ezekiel 14:12-23 reveal The Lord’s promised judgments on to ANY land (not just Israel!) and people (not just Jews!) who demonstrate persistent, un-repented sinfulness. Comparing these verses with what He declared through Moses, in Deuteronomy 32, reveals very close overlaps. Thus, any cursory review reveals that world history clearly aligns with exactly what He promised! That’s the hard evidence (not faith) that human history is essentially the seeds and the fulfillment of Bible prophecies.

So what did Jesus call His faithful followers to be and do?

Jesus only called His followers to be:

     (1) ‘preserving [spiritual] salt’ in societies that tend to rot, socio-culturally, under their weights of increasing sinfulness, and 

     (2) valid, demonstrable witnesses of His saving Grace to the onlooking, unbelieving world.

 

The notion is for us to demonstrably be exemplars of, and to share His life transforming Word, as opportunities arise. Our test (Jeremiah 17:10) is to do these things, and to TRUST/LEAVE THE RESULTS TO THE HOLY SPIRIT.

 

I believe most within the so-called American religious political far right tried this. It is possible that, not seeing results they desired within their own timeframes, many may have decided to 'take matters into their own hands', and to vie for significant influence over the political levers of our nation’s governance, something The Lord never called bona fide Christians to do. Many aspects of Trump’s life were reportedly despicable to them, socio-culturally, but they believed he could help to achieve their political objectives, so they reportedly ‘pinched their noses’ and voted for him, many twice!

Bottom line: It appears many within the so-called American religious/political far right may have been deceived, thinking they could accomplish ‘The Lord’s Will’ via means other than those He specifically assigned to His followers. I believe the key relevant lesson is whenever we fail to keep our ‘eye on the right(eous) ball’, we will always/ALWAYS be tempted to focus on carnal ways and means to address the issues of life, including … a man, thus making him an idol.

Bible Prophecies, Seeds of History (Poem)

Into world history, several friends are steeped.

From ancient-to-modern, they are well read.

Yet into The Holy Bible, most never peeped.

Unwise…

Thus, by The Lord’s wisdom, they are not fed.

Under their ‘carpets of life’, His wisdom they sweep.

 

Well into the future, The Lord’s prophets could ‘see’.

Whatever they ‘saw’, they both spoke and wrote.

He transformed their ‘word seeds’ into …‘world history’!

Likewise…

Future history shall be what they wrote.

Our faithless ignorance denies this mystery.

 

In the highest sense, The Bible, essentially,

Is all about prophecy, The Lord’s ‘business card’,

Proof He is exactly Whom He declares to be.

Emphatically…

It is the equivalent of Heaven’s vanguard,

To be received and respected, eminently.

In Heaven that’s not available for our previewing?

Reverently…

That’s when The Holy Spirit gives us license,

To transcend ourselves, and perceive into …His dimension. 

 

Let’s reflect…

The Holy Bible may well be His chosen instrument,

To enable us into this essence to peer,

And see His heart for us, and our responses …so indolent. ²

Irreverently…

To reveal to us, from Him how far we all veer,

Yet His longing for us all to return …is incessant.

 

Perhaps... as if to mirror The Scripture of Truth in Heaven,

The Bible whispers this core message to all humanity:

I, Jesus, AM The Lord God of and over all creation.

What I speak to, and inspire in My prophets is prophecy.

My Words ‘seeded’ history for all coming generations.

 

Can a tree bear fruit without a seed, and then roots?

Can a baby be born without a dad’s seed and a mom’s womb?

Can books reveal more than what their authors deduce?

What you see is 'My-story', when its rearward you peer & zoom.

I speak en avance, and history …is educed. ³

 

What I speak previews two broad paths humans may follow:

One is My path of righteousness which yields good results.

The other is of evil, when in sins you wallow.

Denying My word seeds will not change what fruit erupts. 

That just portends bitter pills in life you will swallow. ⁴

 

Friends…

I implore you to open your ‘eyes’ until you can see,

The Lord’s ‘seeds’ in history’s fruits at which you peer,

Results of our choices between His …two-path policy.

As you peer, may the roots of our choices appear,

And you realize history is …fruits of prophecy.
