Revelation - Read It, Hear It, Keep It (Poem, Part 1)

The Book of Revelation, what a prodigious mystery.

It is The Lord’s ‘battle plan’, that’s what I see.

How so?

Over what He gave to man, He’ll re-assert authority,

By wrapping up the last 4 ages of human history. ¹

Therein are blessings for us who read, hear and keep its words.

You see, what this book is about, the world is …on the verge!

What blessings?

It tells us how to miss the worst, and enjoy the best to come!

So I’m doing my part so folks won’t be blind, deaf and dumb!! ²

Read it.

It’s likely ‘the most’ book of The Bible …we love to AVOID,

Maybe because, about the future, it  …makes us PARANOID!

But the people who should be fearful, don’t read it either!!

Thus, by the wisdom this book imparts, we’re not made wiser!!! ³

Hear it.

Hearing it activates our auditory sense,

Which will serve to reinforce our visual sense. ⁴

Part 2 of this rhyme should help you with that.

But first, please take note of this caveat.

 

The climax of a movie is best appreciated,

When watching the whole movie is …not abbreviated!

Reading The Bible as a ‘religious book’, chapter and verse,

Will, to you, make reading and hearing Revelation …adverse!! ⁵

Keep it.

If, like me, you desire MAXIMUM blessings proffered,

Perhaps you’ve also wondered how to keep this book’s words.

Here’s my take:

If, to see the climax of a great movie, you are inclined,

Live your life with ‘the climax of human history’ in mind.

(Makes sense?)

³ People who should be afraid are all sinners and backslidden/apostate ex-saints. Both groups refuse to repent of their sinfulness, and thus reject The Lord’s GRACIOUS offer of eternal salvation. His sustainably faithful saints, on the other hand, should have no fears about what He has planned and predicted as judgments for all humans who reject His Grace.

⁵ Here’s why: The Bible, when activated by The Holy Spirit within us saints, becomes ‘The Mind of Christ’ to us , i.e., the whole, written counsel of God. Reading it as just a or another religious book, focusing on the most appealing, easily understood chapters and verses, will ensure we walk away with only a sliver of The Lord's counsel to humanity, in general, and to His saints, in particular. That’s how many so-called Christians attest ‘God is ONLY kind, loving and gracious’, ergo everything we count as bad and evil, cannot/must not be from Him! Perhaps you may have heard or thought such. The Bible is The Lord's 'Humanity's Earth and Life Management Guide', with not only very clear instructions, but also lots of vivid examples of the results of applying versus ignoring these instructions.
