The U.S. Wealth Inequality Gap
(short video)
With an education and experience in International Economics (Trade and Development), and my deepening interest in Biblical prophecies, I have long wondered what socio-economic system(s) might Jesus, as global King, apply during His Millennial Reign. During His predicted time on Earth, the population will substantially recover from (a) decimations during tribulation judgments, and (b) the first 2 of 3 predicted attacks in Israel. (See: Revelation - Future Attacks in Israel) Moreover, Isaiah predicts the life spans of folks born during that time (new millennials) will be significantly extended, possibly to several centuries, as in antediluvian times. Finally, The Lord promises to give to the peoples (not just to Israel) a pure language, possibly signifying a return to a common language, globally, as before the Tower of Babel. 1 Imagine the likely economic impacts of doing business in a truly global language!
Moreover, with Jesus on Earth for so long, His declared nature and credentials will most certainly impact economic prosperity globally. Based on his extended visionary visit to Heaven, Paul declares Jesus is the fullness of The Godhead, bodily, in Whom the sum of Father God’s essence, perfection, powers, attributes, plus treasures of wisdom and knowledge are inherent. 2 So I imagine Earth will be restored to either its original state at creation, or possibly something close to that. I simply cannot imagine Jesus, as God on Earth, staying here for a thousand years wallowing in the mess we have created across the world! Can you?! While the promised NEW Earth will be sometime after the Millennial Reign and Great White Throne Judgment, our current Earth definitely deserves a reprieve from mankind’s gross mis-management, and the Millennial Reign clearly fits that order.
Other than that, The Bible appears to give no substantial insights into possible socio-economic systems that will be globally employed/enforced at that time. Some may speculate select aspects of the Mosaic laws and their implicit socio-economic systems might apply globally. I cannot imagine that.
The Bible does, however, have a lot to say about Babylon, both physically and especially spiritually. Spiritually, Babylon is generally regarded as man's systems and attempts to meet his needs apart from God, and His Son, Jesus, through Whom all things were created and are sustained, per Hebrews 1. Our systems feature selfish wealth accumulation in the hands of a few, at the expense of the many. The Book of Revelation predicts all things Babylonian 'shall be destroyed' (Revelation 14:8 and 18:2), but it is unclear with what might these systems be replaced during the Millennial Reign. So might equitable wealth distribution be realized during Jesus’ reign?
I believe equitable distribution of wealth is merely a myth that will never be achieved on this Earth, period, not even during the Millennial Reign. Here’s why.
History reveals economic systems that result in extreme skewing of wealth eventually trigger revolutions of various kinds. Ezekiel 38:12-13 indicate considerable wealth will accrue in Israel before the Millennial Reign, and will be part of the bait The Lord uses to trigger the 1st War of Gog and Magog. 3 Moreover, recall the great wealth in King Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem became bait for the (3) Babylonian sieges and final invasion. Isaiah 60 predicts Jesus' reign on Earth will result in an incredible voluntary (and taxes required?) accumulation of wealth ('booty') in Israel as folks the world over will seek to curry His favor. Based on human history, sometime after the end of the millennium, this accumulated wealth will, likely become satan's key trigger point to spark an attempted revolution by a multi-nation army 'whose number is as the sands of the sea'. (Revelation 20:8) In light of this and given human nature, in general, it appears not even Jesus’ Millennial Reign will achieve the mythical ‘equitable distribution of wealth’ on Earth among those mortals who will have survived the tribulation, and their offspring.
Ahhhh, but ponder this. The Lord promises to destroy the current Earth, and create a brand new one, with no sun, but Himself as its perpetual Light. This is the physical part of the eternal Kingdom of God on a new Earth. That Kingdom is promised to us born-again folks who are called, ‘saints’, we who will have been made righteous in Jesus as our Christ Savior. Spiritually-speaking, with the born-again experience, we become citizens of that Kingdom. Jesus promises us:
‘Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure
to give you the kingdom.’ (Luke 12:32)
By faith, this physical Kingdom will one day be mine, and it can be yours, too if your live for, and then die in Christ. This, my friends, may well be the only thing in all of existence that will be truly …equitably owned and distributed. Imagine that!

3 This point is elaborated in this expository series, Revelation - Future Attacks in Israel and Booty/Pre-Post Millennial Reign (Series). For more, see: Paxes, God’s Axes (Poem) and Peace on Earth? Hell No!! (Poem). These posts note the Millennial Reign of Christ might in some way be sandwiched between two major wars, as has been for nations that have risen to global hegemon (pax) status. After a thousand years of literally 'Heaven on Earth', the post-millennial war, predicted in Revelation 20: 7-10, will likely not be a result of lack among the nations outside of Israel, but very possibly envy, avarice, covetousness, and plain ole rebellion against a long-standing monarch, in response to temptations of the then released tempter.
