Author and finisher of our faith, He claims to be,
Starting, then finishing - mostly what we cannot see. 1
Then there is that huge part right in the middle
On which we’re to work, yet we mostly …piddle.
Author is a writer or initiator.
Thus Jesus is the ‘seed DNA rule Creator’.
Finisher completes per author’s designs.
Thus He places fruits on sap laden vines.
In Christ’s parable on mustard seed faith,
The core message will get lost in the wake,
If we think it is all about the seed,
Rather than His ‘process’ to meet our need. 2
A seed that’s never planted, and that never sprouts a root,
Is just His ‘DNA rule’ of a certain kind of fruit.
For every kind of seed, He ordained a certain process,
That ensures, from the seed, you derive His ordained harvest.
To speak of fruit from an un-processed seed,
Is like log cabins from an un-cut tree,
Lemonade from lemons un-cut and un-squeezed,
Or like a gift that’s given, but not received.
In all things, God gives faith like a mustard seed,
His wise strategy to meet our every need.
Yet many of us think this seed needs no planting!
Krazy!
Fruit from seed un-planted?? Now that is scanting! 3
And when our un-planted seed faith yields no results,
At God, Jesus and The Bible, we hurl insults.
‘There’s nothing to that faith stuff!’, we may think.
And from steps to live by faith, we then shrink.
We pull away from God in frustration,
Then devils elate in celebration!
The Lord’s loving heart is then saddened,
Because by His gift, we’re not gladdened.
Friends, there is a clear answer to this conundrum,
To escape from habits to which we’re accustom.
Since by faith God has instructed us to live,
Then let’s learn to manage seed faith that He gives. 4
Insights from agriculture to us speak,
That each seed requires a process unique. 5
Only by respecting its process requirement,
Will each seed yield its God-ordained fruits allotment.
So what are the seeds of which I speak,
And how to know each process unique?
What is our job as co-workers with God,
So He can finish with fruits that we’ll applaud.

5 Jesus authors or starts our faith by giving us the initial measure of His faith, the ability to perceive and believe His faithful promises concerning each aspect of life. He finishes or perfects our faith after we have duly exercised it, and in patience, anticipate His harvest.
