(This is #1 in a mini-series)
We humans are designed to
think in word pictures --
Programmed to translate words
and thoughts into posters.
But if asked, ‘What image of your spirit comes to mind?’
I wonder… what picture to
this word would you assign?
This question I posed to
myself on many occasions,
And I hope for you it’s not
an unwelcomed obtrusion.
But to this question, I
could find no adequate answer.
I pose it sincerely, not
just as some cleaver quipster.
The greatest personality ever to exist,
Long ago had no clear
picture to explain His gist!
So He sent His Son, Jesus,
to us as a Man,
To show us The Father, and
to explain His plan.
In His explanation, He gave
a stark revelation,
Which for all us believers
is a great promulgation!
He said in the
resurrection, ‘like angels’ we will
be,1
So with this insight, come
along, I’ll show you what I see.
Tripartite beings, in God’s
own image we are thus.
Our spirit and soul
are the hidden parts of us,
Housed in a body
with a brain, serving as our earth suit,
Yet lacking any picture of our hidden attributes!
‘Angel like’. It has a nice ring to it.
Yep,
I must admit!
But…
Could this future designation have a present benefit?!
We know that by time and
distance, spirit is not
bound.
Thus, ‘angel like’ is a concept I wish to expound.
To God, our ‘angel like’ designation is now
the present.
His Word prompts us to see
us now,
as in our future raiment.2
So since ‘angel like’ is what He now sees, I
am satisfied,
That in THIS,
the answer to my question… is signified!
So just how are we like
and unlike holy angels?
This I searched to understand
what The Bible counsels.
In sum, I found angels do
four (4) principal things.
See how this compares to
your own righteous leanings.
They bless
The Lord!
We, too, as we repent and live by faith
in His salvation plan!
They excel
in strength!
We, too, as in JOY,
on His great Word promises
we learn to stand!
They do
His Word!
We, too, as we study and learn His
Word, and then
apply it in our lives!
They heed
His voice!
We, too, as we obey, after
training our spirit
His voice to recognize!3
Unlike us…
With a physical body,
angels are not blessed.
Thus, by mere earthly
limits, they are not stressed.
Unlike us…
They behold ‘The Face of God’, and are not consumed.4
We behold Him through His
Word,
and thus are we ‘groomed’.5
Jesus became a human to personify God’s merit.
Angels are beings that personify The Holy Spirit.
Your body-life personifies your spirit and soul essence,
So allow your spirit to
reflect your shinning ‘God brilliance’.
If saving faith in Jesus
Christ you have declared,
In Heaven, ‘like angels’ you are being ‘compared’.
I suggest you to ponder
your future ‘angle like’ designation,
And incorporate this
picture now into your imagination.
So interesting that, in
word pictures,
God designed us to think,
And then He provided a
great image
with which we could sync.
So if asked, ‘What image of your spirit comes to mind?’

you ponder this incredible message, consider this: All who reject God’s
salvation through Jesus Christ may also have ‘angel like’ status throughout eternity, based on their dark lord,
satan, whom they now bless; in whose sinful strength they now excel; whose word
they now do/perform; and whose voice they now heed. The Bible iteratively affirms
they will likewise share the eternal reward reserved for him and God’s fallen
angels.
