Picturing Your Spirit - Why? (Poem)

(This is #2 in a mini-series) 

‘Je’, ‘Ich’, ‘Io’, ‘Yo’, ‘Eu’ -- ‘I’ , in some world languages,

May be the most overworked word across world villages.

But let’s pause to ponder this significant fact,

And consider what into this one word we all pack.

Me, myself and I, is what I say to reference who I am,

But mostly into ‘I’, my spirit, soul and body I cram.

If into three parts, by God, I am attributed,

Is it fair that, in one word I’m abbreviated??

When I say, ‘I’, the reference is to my parts physical.*

When God calls me, ‘You’, He references my part spiritual.

Whenever I pray, and my prayers He answers,

Into my spirit, the answers He delivers.

This sets up a dilemma, as past each other we talk!

Answers unperceived, devils whisper, ‘Away from Him...walk!’

But I wait, and my body continually survey,

Hoping God’s answer I will know one day, somehow, someway!

As I wait, slowly my faith begins to slip,

Until a few words of doubt fall from my lip.

With little-to-no perception of my spirit,

His answer I will eventually forfeit.

But....

With knowledge of how to unpack and distinguish,

My three attributes, and how each one to nourish,

My dilemma I then greatly diminish,

And avoid such deadly traps, so devilish.

God’s doorway to us is our spirit, some call it our heart.

Via this way, He reaches out to touch our other parts.

If of this port we remain in-perceptively ignorant,

All this God talk will be met by many....with a simple grunt.

Friends, your spirit and soul are your parts eternal,**

Your body’s just a temporary shell or hull.

So why in the world should God give preeminence,

To that part of you to which you give dominance?!

He won’t!

Perhaps the greatest trick played on all humanity,

Is to make each of us think, ‘I’ am just only ‘me’,

When into three distinct parts we are all created.

Satan, with this one trick, our spirits has abducted!

So since in words we all communicate,

And into pictures these words we translate,***

Finding creative ways your spirit to envision,

Will greatly aid you in your... ‘three part division’.

God’s Word, The Bible, is very uniquely designed,

To ensure your attributes are properly aligned.

Time spent daily absorbing its great stories,

Ensures you’ll be among God’s greatest trophies.
