God said, ‘120’, Moses said, ‘70 - 80 it is!’
Play along and let’s see if you know the answers to my
quiz.
Where and through whom did God write 120 years for us?
Why, where and when did Moses make 70 - 80 years his focus?
How long did most people live before the worldwide flood?
Was it due to something in the air or in their blood?
What happened to change this after Noah left the ark?
On this, God has shed light so you won’t be in the dark.
Did God say, ‘120’, because of His sin weariness?
Did Moses say, ‘70 - 80’, because of his ‘Sin Wilderness’? 1
Why are so many of us dropping dead in our youth?
To answer these questions, you don’t need to be a sleuth!
Ok, ok, of all my questions, you’ve likely had enough.
No need to get in a huff, thinking the answers are just fluff.
Can’t even answer a few questions ‘off the cuff’?
Maybe you don’t know enough of that... Bible stuff.
Before the flood, people lived hundreds and hundreds of
years,
Just like us, they learned to sin well, bringing God to
near tears. 2
Their hearts’ intent was evil...without reprieve.
Their sins mounted to Heaven...and made God grieve.
God determined to wipe the whole earth clean of sin,
And with Noah and crew, start all over again.
Because of mankind’s sin and so much vice,
All animals had to pay a big price!
To help assure things would never get so bad again,
God cut our years to a fraction of what life had been.3
Centuries on, Moses observed folk dying early.
Here’s why, to him, all of this may have seemed so bleary:
Sustained by God 40 years on their route carousel,
Their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet even
swell! 4
What is it to us that so early they bit the dust?!
Answer this question, and your
life span you might adjust.
Centuries later, a strange conclusion we derived,
Thinking Moses’ observation, God’s Word had belied.
In Psalm 90, perhaps He only intended to compare
‘Wilderness death’ so
early, to life up to our full ‘Grace
share’.
See, Moses found Grace with God, and he lived a long,
full life.5
Our world is our ‘Wilderness of Sin’; with sin it is
rife!
But, if you've transformed your world as a born
again Christ heir,
Then adjust your thoughts, faith and style 6
to LIVE…
your full ‘Grace
share’.

justice since this is where Israel committed a gross sin.
