Missed Insights About Grace (Poem)

When Grace Ain’t Amazing!

Most of us love the song, Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.

Much better than the sound, is in Grace, always to be found!

When we allow the sound of those words be that which delights,

About Grace, we’re then likely to miss some critical insights!

Grace, the first of The Lord’s humans response tactics,

His choice not to judge our mounting sin-full statistics!

Though He’s our Judge Potentate, to judge, He’s reluctant,

Even as our sins are increasingly repugnant!

Grace is how The Lord spells, ‘Time, to repent and live righteously.’

That’s only possible as we embrace His ‘sin remedy’--

By faith, embracing His death sacrifice, as our just judgment,

And His Holy Spirit, as our ‘sin-resisting endowment’.

When we do, much more than the sound of Grace becomes amazing.

Devils’ temptations become increasingly less amusing.

Then righteous victories become …increasingly rewarding,

And to onlookers, our righteousness becomes …more revealing.

Rejecting His remedy may not affect the sound of Grace,

But it’ll eventually trigger its sudden about-face!!!

That’s when, by The Lord’s ramping-up judgments,

folks will be entrapped,

And their cloaked sins and just rewards, will be publicly unwrapped!

Grace, then Judgments to provoke Righteousness,

they’re The Lord’s tactics,

To achieve His human response plan that’s highly strategic.

Let’s peek into His …tactical, provisory progression,

To perceive between these points, so we can trace their succession.

Between Grace and Judgments, are warnings, received or rejected.

When we receive and respond to warnings, Grace is e-x-t-e-n-d-e-d.

But when we reject warnings that are first subtle, then overt,

More Grace, last warnings, then silence –

the ‘pending judgments’ alert!

When our ‘cup of iniquity’ over-spills its rim,

And sin-driven sails, we ardently refuse to trim,

I imagine, in Heaven, all red lines have then been crossed!!!

Spiritually, we’re judged. In judgment’s vise, we’ll be caught.

Between Judgments and Righteousness, there’re remorseful fears,

Of a grateful remnant who escaped destruction’s spears.

But from others, whom the Judgments did not destroy or sway,

Prideful defiance, to survive to sin another day!

So, to Grace, we see TWO faces and responses:

One set leads to reprieves; one leads to ravages. 

But deviants’ response to Grace will be …devastating!

To such, I imagine devils will be salivating! 

There’s a strong reluctance to judge, in The Lord’s gaze,

No hurry to condemn us, in His judgment's blaze.

Friend, to you, which ‘Face of His Grace’ is He now showing?

What’re your responses that, one day, all will be knowing?

Is Grace still so amazing when to enemies it’s extended,

And to deviants, with collateral damages back-ended??

Grace from The Lord to whomever,

And for how long, He’s The Chooser.
