Imagine Having What You Say (Poem)

Imagine a world in which you can have what you say!

Now imagine the pros and cons that such would trigger,

Including results that wouldn’t easily go away,

And realizing your desires …are like a toddler’s!

 

Well, such a world clearly doesn’t exist …or does it??  Let’s see.

The closest thing to this is …the right to have your say,

Protected speech, the so-called bedrock of democracy.

Some courts added restrictions on this ‘free speech freeway!’ 

 

As things spiral to the end of this 3^rd age of history,

It’s clear that lawlessness increasingly abounds,

And much of this is based on what most folks now say, blatantly.

With loss of civility, what we hear astounds!!! ¹

 

The Bible notes as we think, so we are! No schism!

Since so much of what we think, we speak,

Ergo, so much of what we say, ‘seeds’ what we become.

So what we ‘once were’, our words …have tweaked! ²

 

Jesus added a poignant twist on this topic when He said,

We can actually have what we say, with pre-conditions:

--Pray, ask with the faith of God, perceiving the results ahead,

--Shun every doubt, and shed all unforgiveness dispositions. ³

 

Devils will do their best to thwart our meeting these conditions,

By tempting us to keep our eyes on problems and pressures,

And on seeing The Lord’s prerequisites as aggravations!

But they have another trick that keeps us in their pastures.

 

Godless professions!!! That is their trick!

Devils use it on saints and sinners alike.

They know we ‘lack God’ …by just a bit.

Thus, it’s at our god-complex that devils strike! ⁴

 

‘Say it enough times, and it’ll happen’, perhaps you’ve heard.

We’re the first to believe what we say, then others follow!!

Godly conditions then thrown out, it’s ‘group think’ that’s stirred!!! ⁵

It’s too late before we learn …Godless professions ring hollow.

 

America’s political landscape is awash with this!

From it, no nation, society or people is immune.

The resulting carnage all across the world, no eye can miss!

That’s what happens when Godly advice from Jesus, we oppugn.
