‘I am the fullness of God in
Earth!’
Go ahead! Dare to say it!! Or just say your customary, doubt-ridden…
Yeah, but….
Oh brother, I could never say
that!
After all, I’m just an old
sinner worm, saved by Grace.
Unfortunately, this
may well be the inner image of most Christians. It seriously conflicts
with God’s inner image of whom He re-created us to be in Christ, in Earth. Any
wonder The Church, writ large, comes
across as essentially powerless in the face of intractable problems in our
societies, and thus is largely rejected by on-lookers?
It is generally
understood a person’s deep-seated inner image of him/herself, good or bad, will
always eventually win the day,
externally. His/her outer or external presentation of self may largely be a mirror
image of his/her deep-rooted inner image. Could this possibly apply to every
aspect of a person’s being: physique, character, comportment, reputation, etc.? If so, efforts to change the external
presentation will only be temporary, and will eventually fail unless and
until the inner image is
fundamentally and sustainably changed.
To the extent this
may be applicable physically, it must be far more applicable spiritually. Why? The world of spirit is much more highly ordered and exacting than our physical world. Moreover, all things physical are seeded
in the world of spirit, and then in their right times, eventually birthed
in our physical world. Our physical world is essentially the afterbirth
of things pre-established spiritually. This is a fundamental, oft missed
perspective iteratively painted in God’s Word, The Bible. Look for it, and you’ll see it over, and over again.
Adam was created in
God’s image – spirit, soul and body. When Adam ceded to satan God’s delegated
authority as Lord of Earth, satan schemed to ‘re-create’ mankind in his image – spirit, soul and body. This
was done through demons (fallen angels) who ‘left their ordained domain’ as
angels, took on human attributes, married human women, and gave birth to a new,
evil species of human. It did not take long for the entire, relatively young
human race (except Noah and his family) to become infected, and to receive
God’s sentence of death ...via a global flood. 1
When Adam sinned,
God immediately planted the spiritual seed to regain from satan, and then
re-delegate that same authority back to mankind. This would be accomplished
over the ages of human history through the sacrificial death and the
resurrection of Jesus as Christ, which opened the door to the creation of a
brand new species of humans – people born again in the Spirit of Christ, the
Head of The Church, and who would become the fullness of His spiritual Body in
Earth. To accomplish this, God blessed this group with ‘every spiritual blessing’, which is the creative seed to
everything this group would need to live full, Godly lives in Earth, and thus
fulfill God’s inner image of us. 2
Problem: Translating the blessings of creative
spiritual seed into what we need for living powerful, Godly lives that
transform life on Earth is only accomplished through the intimate knowledge,
and application of the knowledge of God’s spiritual seed, which is His blood
covenant promises in Christ. 3 Lacking such knowledge, we fail. 4 Thus we easily become the lukewarm Church of
Laodicea, inherently unable to perceive,
let alone walk in (live out) God’s inner image of us. 5
“By
faith, I am the fullness of God in Earth!”
Christian, I
challenge you to read Scripture and meditate on this concept until The Holy
Spirit unlocks in your spirit and mind the breadth and depth of God’s image of you. As you
do, your inner self-image will slowly conform to His image of you, and eventually, you
will learn to walk out, and in His image for you, a precious, living stone in
the Temple of Christ’s Body in Earth. 6
Consider this:
If a link chain is only as strong as its
weakest link,
what about a large, brick
building??
